Hot Wheels is doing a 50th anniversary celebration, and one of the sets is Camaro again this year. I found 8 of the 10 set at a store, I'm missing 1 and 5. But I started looking at it, and realized my #10(the model of the hot wheels 50 special edition 2018 camaro) is a factory error. No clear coat paint, just the basecoat, looks matte. 

Got 2 of these before they hit market from the SEMA Show. Then I gave one away after being a dick

It's interesting on the amount of variation Hot Wheels can have on what is supposed to be the exact same car.  Even more interesting is the price difference those variations have.

My five 1/2 year old Motherboard died. Asus P8Z77V, the new Asus board have pretty sketchy reviews, think I'll give the Asrock Z370 Extreme4 a try. 

 

My Power Supply checked out. But when I jumped the power motherboard switch pins nothing happened. Even plugged it to the reset switch and that didn't work.  My CMOS battery is still reading over 3V(5 years old!!). Everything shut off as it was leaving post, won't boot at all anymore, wont even trigger the PSU(checked the PSU by jumping 15 and 16). Has to be the mobo. (Disconnected and reconnected all power lines and nothing). 

 

First board I have seen die that shows power light but won't do anything else, didn't even have a warning, no previous errors or anything. I have been overclocking it to max for nearly a year now, thought the CPU would be dead first!

 

 

I think I can get 50-70 for my DDR3, it still sells for 170 new. Reading my 1155 corsair cooler should still work. But I threw out all my boxes two months ago so probably not selling my 3500K.

It's actually pretty rare that you kill a CPU vs other components.  If your PSU is actually dead check its warranty, some have 5-10 year warranties.  Did you try clearing cmos and booting with a default bios?  I gave up on Asus years ago, but they generally seem to be held in high regard.

I didn't say I killed the CPU. And I had the CMOS unpowered for several minutes while looked for my multimeter to check the battery that was in my hand while I was looking. I'm pulling the mobo anyway so I'll try it later in case there was a sudden short. Which would be very odd since it had been running for hours without being moved before it shut off. 

 

If the cpu was dead at least the fans/psu should spin up I believe.

 

The parts are already ordered so even if I get it working again it's not a big deal I've been wanting to upgrade anyway

Well, I fixed it. It ended up being the power strip, two outlets are dead. I was testing other stuff and it worked, so I didn't realize just those outlets died. I guess it couldn't handle the higher draw.

 

Well, this is good because it will be easy to sell this stuff on craigslist

Didn't say you did, but unless you're pushing stupid high volts it's hard to kill a CPU. Congrats on getting it working. Always fun when it's something simple that you spend time trying to figure out.

Now the really fun part: selling a few parts on Craigslist. First guy makes and offer and gives a day. I say ok, what time...28 hours later and No answer, the day he wanted to buy it is almost ove.

 

I put in the ad once price, day and time are agreed I'll show up with a video of me sending the final ok email with the compoents in the pc I send the email with. I was thinking that will ease people's minds.

 

What is wrong with people 90% of people make offers they can't uphold

. Will probably take the entire system in my trunk and just remove the board in front of them so they know I didn't have a second board laying around(and mostly in case they don't show up)

Hot Wheels and Matchbox both have a 100 years of Chevy Trucks series, but out here in flyover zone I have yet to see any. I'll check CO stores (exclusive to Walmart) but I imagine off to eBay I'll go

New rig booted on first try, but windows 10 isn't happy with the changes and the Intel LAN driver installer refuses to run, so have to reset it. I direct all my library's to a non OS drive so I just have to redirect them, reinstall all the important stuff. Oh and hope the reinstalled windows will run the Intel LAN install program.

Seen a Ranger today. Guy is road tripping with his wife. I’m in California and from the couple questions I asked, the truck was shipped from Germany or somewhere in Europe (Deutschland plates) to Halifax, Nova Scotia and somehow ended up at a Bakersfield, CA Costco. Don’t mind my shitbox in the background
