So are we to assume this is an example of the notorious "California Lean"?

Shakey

I think so, great looking truck but the rear end looks like it needs another 2".

Is the driver side rear shock supposed to be mounted that way? I thought they were supposed to be mounted upright

There is a brake line bracket on the driver side frame rail preventing the shock from being mounted right side up. These shocks can be mounted either way.

Not the best photo, parked on a hill and dirty but for some reason I can’t seem to get a good photo of it. Loving the new setup!

Hey everyone. I'm new to this forum and looking for some help. I have a 2015 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab 4wd LTZ with tow package and sits on 20's right now. I really want my truck to sit higher up. Had to compromise with my short wife so cant go too high, 2" top. I'm a mechanic but never lifted a truck before. Where should I start. Tires and wheels first or lift/leveling kit? I would really like to put 32 or 33's on it with 18" rim. The 20's make the ride kinda rough. The size that's on there now is 275/55/20, pretty sure 32's will fit no problem since these tires r at 31 something. How much height would just a leveling kit give me? Is it easier to just do a lift? I dont want anything that will disrupt traction control or have to change gear ratios.  Btw I was just wondering, does a Chevy dealer, ones that sell new cars, do lifts in their shops? Hopefully someone can give me some guidance on all of this. Want to make sure everything's done correctly and I get the right parts.

if you're only going up 2" that won't even completely level it out. the easiest way is a top or bottom strut spacer which will take all of an hour if it's under the strut. you can easily clear 33's with a 2" level on stock wheels or even wheels with 0 or positive offset. being a mechanic you should be able to do a leveling kit in  your sleep.

Oh ok. What's a good company? I've looked at some things on rough country. Haven't looked at reviews on anything yet. Just out of curiosity, how high does a leveling kit put the truck?

I am happy to say that today I replaced my Rough Country 6” lift with this.

She definitely needs a wash!

BDS 6” lift
Fox full-length coilovers with reservoir
BDS rear leaf springs

Ordered the exact same kit(with DSC) almost a month ago.  Should be here this week.  So stoked.    How do you like it?  Can you give a review?  How's the ride on pavement/off road compared to stock?   How's the rear feel with the leaf pack?  Is it at all bouncier than the stock ranchos?

I absolutely love it! She's about to go in the shop to get retorqued after the first 1500 miles. On and off road is great; though I haven't done any serious off road because it needs initial re-torque (no baja jumping.) However I love it compared to the crap Rough Country 6" lift I had on previously.

The rear leafs are completely replacement to your factory leaf -- they are NICE however noisy. At 1500 miles they haven't broken in yet so on big hits like speed bumps you will hear the rear end. I'm told they take hot minute to break in and then they'll stop making noise--but I'll take it over the massive 5" block you usually have back there. They do feel much better.

Here is photo yesterday of me hauling a bunch of furniture to a vacation rental house my wife and I acquired. She handled the load like a champ! It's 6x12' Utility trailer loaded up with a ton of furniture (don't have exact weight.) Pulled it with 8" drop receiver.

Thanks!  What kinds of noise do they make?  Rattles? Squeeks?   Also , how do you like the 4.10's?  Do you have the 6sp?  I've heard that with the 8sp being so lowly geared that re-gearing isn't 100% required.

It's more of leaf squeak; I hear them flex.

I absolutely LOVE the 4.10 gears and yes I have the 5.3L with 6 speed -- before I put the gears in (had the lift done with 35's) she was getting 12mpg everywhere, even on highway and was just a plain dog when trying to get out of the way. When I installed the 4.10's it was like I was back in my stock height truck. She gets 15mpg all the time and can get up to 18mpg if I'm on highway for long distance. She has plenty of power when I need to get out of the way. All in all, I enjoy it. I did it because I plan to keep truck long term and I wanted the transmission to be as efficient as possible. if I had the 8 speed and the money I would probably do it anyways. I know there's 2 more gears in there but I would be worried about hit on transmission.

It's why I ripped out the RC lift and got something better -- everything I do is for long term. Wife said I can't get another truck for 10 years LOL.

Thanks again. What did the gears run?

I got the gears from East Coast Gear Supply; cost me $900 and then the labor was $800 from guy who did my BDS lift install.

Looks Great. How much did it push out your track width up front?
