Another picture of the MPG with 6000 miles on it. I think maybe the drop in MPG is probably winter gas. Still happy with the results here!!

Drove down to Houston and back for some tuning via Blackbear. Set a new record on the way and just barely beat it on the way back.

This 6.2 continues to impress. Did an 80mi round trip to check out some kitchen cabinets at 70-75 and managed 25mpg avg with almost 28 during my best 25mi. I don't know how this is possible with 420hp and 3 tons.

Also this is without the front air dam and the exhaust valve clamped open.

I know people will ball BS but I was getting 18-21 mpg stock with just a level. Now I have 22" wheels and 35" Toyo MTs. Of course it went down tremidously-12-13MPG. I have t had it done long but the last fill up with 91 and tuned with my Diablo I was at 19 mpg.

This is great! Is this because of a tune? I've been able to get mid to even high 20's but that is only in 25 mile intervals.

No tune. Just stock 5.3 2wd extended cab. I just passed 10000 miles and I am still at 24.1 MPG. 10000%20mile%20gas%20mileage_zpso1abxwop

And a whole lot of discipline! Damn. Between remote starts in the winter and towing in the summer I can't get my overall average up nearly that high.

Thats awesome! Do you have a custom tune from Lew? Or just one of the standard diablo tunes?

Just going to state that where you live makes a difference in these MPG numbers.
If I were to post numbers from my commute to and from work, I average 12-13 if I only drive to work and back. It's a 2.5 mile trip with 5 stop lights.

But on the highway I get around 16-18 with 10 ply 275/70/18s, a 2" level, grill guard, intake, exhaust and topper. It all depends on environment and speed of the commute. and... how you drive. I can drive my commute to work the same way for a week and my 25 mile average can be 17 or all the way down to 10 depending on how i drive it. So take these numbers with a grain of salt.

I've driven quite a few of these new body GM pickups, probably 10 or more, and they have all been very similar in mpg, if not identical, with a stock set up.

I have a '14 SLT CCSB 4x4 with 5.3L and 3.42. I drive 15mi round trip per day for work and it is up and down a 6% grade. I average 14 mpg just driving back and forth for work and some around town on a tank of gas. Lifetime MPG at 23kmi is 16 mpg. When I am cruising at 70 on a flat freeway, I will get 21ish MPG. I do a regular drive (2x per month) from sea level to 7500 ft in the Eastern Sierra Nevada's. It is a 660 mi round trip and I avg 19.5 (17.5 there and 21.5 back)... this is at 75 MPH avg. Add or subtract 1-2 MPG depending on if you go 65, 75, or 85.

Back in Memorial weekend 2015 I traded my 2008 Silverado 5.3/4 spd CC for a 2015 LTZ 6.2/8 spd 4x4 CC. I was actually shopping for a 5.3/8 Spd but upon learning this combo was not yet available I bought the 6.2/8 spd. No offense to my trusty old 2008 as it went about its daily chores reliably and without complaining - except when being asked to tow my 25' TT that is ... Anyway, the 2015 6.2/8 spd combo is a huge improvement as it delivers better mpg as a grocery-getter and a big mpg improvement when towing "and" with no complaining ! Now, when road tripping with my TT hooked up I just set the cruise on about 68 mph (seems to be the sweet spot) and sit back and enjoy the ride. Nothing like big V-8 power and torque matched up with 8 forward gears! Anyway, I'm a happy camper for sure Lol!

After reading about folks getting 24 mpg, I had to see if I could replicate this with my truck. I am adding this to my first post so you can see the vehicle setup (engine, gears, etc.).

Here are the conditions of the test:

I had a 90 mile round trip this weekend to visit friends in Santa Barbara, CA.. I did all freeway tracking for this MPG test. I drove along the coast with a mostly flat road (628ft ascent and a 667 descent one way). I babied the truck like I did when it was new (no full throttle!). <-- I had moments where I forgot and got on it a bit.The weather was clear skies, almost no wind and upper 70s. I used the dash as well as a GPS tracking app.The goal was to maintain 72 MPH but I hit traffic both ways, more so on the way there.

Here are the results:
