That's what I thought, just wanted to be sure because I'll be ordering a set soon and I cant decide which one I should get. I know the size will be 275/65/20 but still undecided Toyo Open Country AT or MT. I might go with the MT for the more aggressive look.

Also realize that there is Open Country AT and Open Country AT2. I have the AT on my truck. The AT is an older model and some places still carry them. The sidewall is less aggressive looking on the AT than the AT2. Just be aware.

What lift are you running? Those are stock wheels right?

Installed a readylift leveling kit about 2 weeks ago. Went to re-check all bolts and noticed a couple things that I wanted to check with everyone here. 2014 Crew Cab LTZ Z71 4wd. Installed 2.25" Readylift up front and their +1 in the rear. Noticed that the "washer" looking pieces inboard of the bolts on the bottom of the strut seem to be pushing out at the top. Anyone else seeing this on a stock or leveled truck?

 

Also, there seems to be a contact point between the spindle and bottom control arm. Think its just a steering stop but wanted to double check that as well.

 

Spoke with a ready lift tech and he said steering stop seemed normal but the bottom strut issue might be a problem. One of the other techs he had look at the pictures said it was completely normal.

 

Any input is appreciated.

I have a rough country 2" level kit still new in box that I would like to sell. Bought it before reading about all the work involved and just really don't want to mess with it. I'm asking $50 shipped. PAYPAL would be an acceptable form of payment.

Okay, here's a question that might seem repetitive! Is anyone running 275/65/20 Toyo Open Country MTs on the original all terrain wheels with the RCX 2.5 level kit? I looked thoroughly before posting and couldn't find any pictures. I did see some running the same size tire but in the all terrain tire not the MT. I wonder if they will rub a lot more than the ATs due to the more aggressive tread. I am scheduled to get my tires installed tomorrow so i am hoping someone has some pictures and info on the setup. If not i might have to play it safe and go with the 33s.

My TGC kit included new nuts, bolts and washers. IDK if I'd feel comfortable with using the stock clamp nut with a spacer or even running stock clamp nut with no spacer for that matter. Seems like it could be an easy point of failure.

I would grab a set of grade 8 or 10 (can't remember which they were) nuts, bolts and washers and replace all the stock stuff just for piece of mind.

The hardware that came in my kit was from Fastenal

With a rough country 2" up front and 1" block in the back will goodyear duratrac 285/60r20 fit with no rubbing?

Picking up a 2014 Silverado 1500 CC SB 4x4 this week. It has the stock 20s and I'm putting 275/65s toyo mts on it. Would like it to have a slight rake. 2.25" will get me there? 2.5" would be completely level right?

I sit level 39" front 39" rear with readylift 2.25 but im on 285/45r22

different brands vary in height.

Scooby, did your front end come up exactly 2.25"? Just trying to find out if the actual number is the actual lift. If so I guess a 2" would give me the slight rake I'm looking for.

Will both of these work on 2014 1500 all terrain with a 2" RC leveling kit?

 

Goodyear duratrac

285/60r20

305/55r20

 

Anyone currenty running one of these setups?

285/60R20's will work but the 305's will rub with just a leveling kit.

Before the level the mechanic measured from the bottom of the fender well to the ground and the front measured 37" and the rear was 39"

After the readylift 2.25 Part# 66-3085 the front fender measures an almost exact 39" depending how eye level you look :freak:

After install did an alignment and the truck feels great without sacrificing any ride quality!! hope this helps..

If you still want the rake look you might try the 2.25 level with a 1" block in the rear...

Well the readylift 2.25 front level kit is installed, and a 3" block on the back...Like the rake plus I tow a boat, sled and quad so needed it for sag. Anywho looking at beefing up the tires a little. Looking at nitto terra grapplers or cooper zeon ltz. Looking at 305 50 20...Thinking they should work by size calculator but any experience would help if you would like to chime in!

Would like to see some pics please. I have 2.5" RC lift and thinking about installing 3" block to gain some rake, did you use shock extensions?

TBN and ZDP levels matter. The one thing not covered was sufficient viscosity. Sad.     And yet we now have since API SN lower amount of them all with the only real change being a slight up tick in base oil selection. Along with lower concentrations of everything that makes oil work and lower and lower viscosity there is still an insistence on longer OCI's.    How low does the peanut butter and jelly level have to get before we say it's just white bread folded?    The new smoke and mirror treatment is the 'additives are INVISIBLE' to UOA testing with a health dose of TRUST ME.    I'm not picking on AMSOIL. This is coming from all of them. Every last one of them that abandon the low wear model in favor of the high mpg/EPA compliance model. 
    • First off use it in the way you’re more comfortable. In working in off road situations most of my life I used 4WD low range very little. In most cases when equipped I used auto 4WD. If I wanted maximum control going up and down very steep terrain  I used low range. Especially if I was driving a diesel. Same with very rutted terrain. In very muddy or snowy conditions I wanted momentum so high range worked well for that. With gravel ramps with limited traction I would try high range first. I would want smooth even increasing speed if I was fighting traction. Low range could give you too much to the wheels breaking traction trying to move. 
    • Having owned 4wd vehicle since the 1970s I find there are varying opinions on how to use 4wd, every owner is an expert in their minds.  IMO, 4LO is the appropriate gear and what I would use,  You have to feather the gas to avoid spinning tires and the lower the gear the better chance.  But like I said you will find those that think their method is best.  I live near a boat launch.  Yesterday there was a new Ford Maverick pulling out a pontoon boat almost 2x its size, they had no problems and they don't have a LO range.   True story. One winter day not long ago I was coming out of small town post office and there was a F150 4wd parked in front and was stuck foot deep snow ruts. I knew the lady so I asked her to put it in 4wd (wondering why in the middle of a 2-day snow storm she wasn't).  Her reply surprised me, "my husband" (the expert) told me not use that because it uses too much gas. She finally got unstuck spinning in 2wd which likely used more gas than not.  
    • Your tire pressure issue may just be batteries, you can reset them using tge Ing switch (I think) and the owner's  manual. ChatGTP will b e a faster, better help than Google.
    • The thinking is that starting out in a higher gear makes it easier to avoid applying excessive torque when pressing the gas pedal. In a modern 4wd truck with 4 low and a limited slip or locking rear end, I would use 4 low and try to crawl up the ramp. Sometimes if they are too slippery, you have to back up to let the boat have some bouyancy, and then accelerate briskly to get some momentum to help you pull the through the slippery parts.
