If anyones curious and likes a little bit of rake (im a muscle car guy so to me it looks aggressive). I used the 2.5 RC kit and left the top .5in spacer off the front. So 2in front. 1in rear(2in rear block). Im happy. Truck looks stock, just higher. Went with 275/65/20 bfg k02s... dont rub at all. Wish i went bigger but still averaging 18.5mpg overall. This is the stance I've been looking for. Perfect in my opinion love the look. Question is if you were to do it over would you go with the 275/65/20s or 275/60/20s? Again great stance

Thanks. I'd go 275/65 at least. Maybe bigger. The 65s don't rub at all and don't even look particularly big to me. They are kind of narrow too at least in bfg flavor. Long story short: I had more room underthere than I anticipated based on how everyone talks on this forum.

my setup... 2016 Silverado LTZ 5.3 6 speed Just installed the Rough Country 2.5 lift/level kit along with a set of 275/65/20 Cooper Discover AT3's here is some pics...

First post on the forums. I have seen every post in this thread which helped tremendously as I thought about what setup to go with. Thanks for all the info!

 

2014 LTZ Z71 Silverado

Rough Country 2.5" leveling kit (front only)

Stock 20X9 +27 wheels

BFG A/T KO2 285/65/20

 

Before leveling kit:

Front - 36 1/4"

Rear - 39 3/8"

 

After leveling kit:

Front - 38 1/2"

Rear - 39 1/4"

 

After tires:

Front - 40"

Rear - 40 1/8"

 

I did both the leveling kit and the tires today, so I wouldn't regret my decision when I saw the MPG drop :)

 

I've driven about 40 miles and have not rubbed yet, going through tight parking lots and pulling in the driveway. I don't think I've been at full lock yet, because while not rolling, it is on the liner. Plan to use zip ties rather than cutting. Going to see what happens over the next few days.

New to the forum, installed a 3 inch leveling kit on my 2015 Double Cab 4WD it has the 20" wheels. Here is a pic of the front, now I feel like the rear sits a tad bit lower. I want to pick out a good block and u bolt kit? Any suggestions? I want to pick out a good block and u bolt kit? Any suggestions? Welcome to this forum. There is a lot of good reading in this particular thread and I'm sure you'll find answers to your questions and more information. What I have learned is that adding a leaf to the back is a popular way of raising the back while maintaining load carrying abilities. I have also learned that any level over 2.5 inches will be harder on front end components and make your truck appear to squat in the back. I have not read much supportive material for spacers on stock wheels. I know that you need to be knowledgeable about offsets when purchasing custom wheels for your truck. The cheap side of me suggests lowering your front level by 1/2 inch or more to regain a level look. The rich side of me suggests looking at the 4 inch lift kits for your truck!

This post and the post by patrick983 couldn't have came at a better time for me. I'm torn between these two sizes of this same tire with this same level kit. 275/65-20 or 285/65-20?!?!?

 

Aggieguy, could you possibly take an front angled pic and a straight on front pic and post?

You wanted to make sure we saw this truck, so you posted it on three different threads! J/K :)

 

Get a bungee and turn your wheel all the way in either direction. Use the bungee to hold your steering (lightly) at full lock. Now look at the spacing between the back edge of your tire to the swaybar. Is it hitting? Go to the other side of the truck, and look at the spacing between the upper control arm (UCA) and the edge of your tire. Is it hitting? You can cut and tie-strap liner, but you can't do anything for swaybar or UCA rub except move towards neutral or negative offset. New rims or spacers...and we all know about spacers.

 

My fear on swaybar/UCA rub is that the tire is not very thick in the sidewall, so I don't want to wear that or heat it up and lead to a blowout. I'm running a 10.83" wide (275) tire, and at full lock with a +24 stock rim, I have 1/4" of UCA clearance at full lock....I have about 1" of swaybar clearance, but the swaybar has a curve to it, so a taller tire actually makes it worse. I was all set to go 295 or 305, but with only 1/4" clearance, it just ain't gonna happen. I'm even starting to have doubts a 285 won't hit. The best way to solve this problem is 0 offset rims on these trucks. Not sure it's worth it to me.....yet.

I installed the motofab 3 " leveling kit with their 2"rear blocks. To the naked eye it looks just about level but measured the rear is 1/4 to .5 inches lower. If I were to do it again I would get a 3 inch block for the rear. RC has the block for 40 bucks and ready lift has the 3" block withe ubolts for 150. Seems the ubolts are what make the price higher

Does the truck retain a 1 inch factory block that you removed when you did your 2 inch block? So a three inch block would raise it 2 inches? I have to get different u bolts correct?

    • Fred was in the fertilized egg business. He had several hundred young pullets, and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced. This took a lot of time, so he bought some tiny bells and attached them to his roosters. Each bell had a different tone, so he could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing. Now, he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report by just listening to the bells. Fred's favourite rooster, old Butch, was a very fine specimen, but this morning he noticed old Butch's bell hadn't rung at all! When he went to investigate, he saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets, hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover. Fred was so proud of old Butch, he entered him in the City Show and he became an overnight sensation among the judges. The result was the judges not only awarded old Butch the "No Bell Piece Prize," but they also awarded him the "Pulletsurprise" as well. Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making. Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the unsuspecting populace and screwing them when they weren't paying attention.     • Can someone confirm if the GM order workbench terminal is able to validate a custom build sequence:   1) Initialize the Allocation Base: Open a new vehicle build queue, select the 2026 Chevrolet Suburban 4WD, and pick the High Country (3LZ Preferred Equipment Group).   2) Select the Diesel Powertrain: Go directly to the engine configuration screen and choose RPO code LZ0 (3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel). Ensure it maps to the MHS 10-speed automatic transmission.   3) Deploy the Seating Swap: Navigate to the Interior Options screen and enter RPO code ATT to replace the standard captain's chairs with the power-release 60/40 bench seat. Because you are not trying to force a separate luxury or air-suspension bundle, the standard, premium D07 Fixed Floor Console remains active. The system will accept this change immediately without triggering a warning message.   3)Apply Heavy-Duty Hauling Capability: Input RPO code NHT (Max Trailering Package). The commercial terminal will automatically bundle the required trailering hardware and software modules to support the diesel engine's maximum towing capacity.   5) Layer the Premium Tech and Glass: Separately add code C3U (Panoramic Power Sunroof) and code UKL (Super Cruise) to the order screen.   6) Run the Final Validation: Click the "Validate Order" button at the bottom of the interface.
    • Spent the last hour or 2 googling and reading up on the spacer thing. I don't like the loss of thread contact on the slip on spacers, but it appears you can get "extended" lug nuts that reach into the hole of the wheel to get back the lost threads. Looks like the only true hubcentric slip on spacers are at least .375". I'd want as little as I could get away with and don't want to cause other clearance issues going any thicker. Bora seems to offer what appears to be a well made .375" spacer and extended lug nuts. I searched here and did find a couple threads recommending Bora. But not cheap. By the time I buy spacers and lugs, new TPMS sensors, then pay a tire shop to install the new sensors, I suspect I'm going to be in over $400. Thinking about running out and getting some washers to put behind the wheel to see if .375" is enough to clear calipers, turn lock to lock without rubbing, and to see if the wheels/tires look strange pushed out a little. This would just be to check fitment.
    • Roadmaster makes some quality parts; I have their sway bar. I considered the RAS, but I ended up bagging. I didn't know what kind of ride I'd get with RAS, and the bags have interior jounce bumpers, so I can run 0 pounds pressure. I figured I'd have the best of normal suspension ride with assist on-demand. But it seems you got pretty much the same in one item.
