Even if they fit the tire.. doesn't mean it doesn't rub

You probably won't get much response, because that question has been answered dozens of times...and members expect the new guys to search for their answers before asking a common question.

I'll give you the short answer...Yes, your truck has a 1.25" rear block, so replacing it with a 2.25" block will give you 1" of rear lift total. And yes, you can run a level kit in the front (and your combination of bilstein & spacer will be fine as long as you don't go higher than 2.5" total). I did something similar on my last two trucks. On my 2009, I ran a 2" spacer in the front and 3" blocks in the rear. Factory rake was about the same (which was nice for towing), but the whole truck sat 2" higher than stock. Then, on my 2012, I ran a 2" front spacer and 2" rear block. That truck only had about 1" of rake, so I added Timbren SES (with 1" spacers) to the rear to help with squat when towing.

And, if you tell me your rim size, I can help you with tire sizes...

Big Whiskey, Thanks for your help, lots of information I just wasn't sure I was reading it correctly. My wheels are stock 18" with p265/65r18 goodyears. thanks again for your help.

I did find this information from a previous post. Sounds like this combination of 5100 Bilsteins and spacers will get me where I want to be.

"Front - 2.5 inch (combination of bilstein 5100 set to 1.25 and 1.25 top spacer)

Rear - 1 inch (replaced 1.25 stock with 2.25) w/bilstein 5100"

Not sure how the rear1" was actually accomplished - Does the Silverado 1500 come equipped with a 1.25 inch spacer? top or bottom? Thanks again for any input.

I'm running similar setup on my '14 HC. Except my 5100s are set to highest setting (1.8") with a .5 in spacer on top in front. And swapped out stock block (1.25") for 2.25" block in rear also with 5100s. Running 295/60/20 on stock high country rims. Barely rubs, and I mean barely, inner liner at full lock. Sits about 1/4"-3/8" higher in rear. As Big Whiskey stated, you can run bigger Timbrens or Firestone Airbags in rear to help with squat while towing.

How bad is that rubbing the UCAs and swaybar?

Im not rubbing on the UCAs just on the sway bar. "How bad?" Just enough to notice it when im doing a turn at full lock. By that point i give some slack on the wheel and proceed turning.

Anyone running 5100 bilsteins with a small front spacer? with or without the rear block? Anyone with this setup please shoot me a message.

My plan is 5100 bilsteins set @ 1.5-1.85" and a 0.5" front spacer along with the 2" rear block to maintain SOME rake. Bilsteins are ordered just scoping out what I should couple with it

thanks ina dvance

Any suggestions on this route, would you do it again, would you opt for anything different? Any issues?

I think I'd like slightly more rake than you show.

I'd do it again every time. The ride is tremendously better than stock. This is the only route I would personally go without a lift. I've done the RC 2" level and TGC 2.5" level on trucks I've owned, the billstein combo I put on here is the sweet spot IMO. Works best for me. If you want a little rake, put the fronts on the 3rd setting and you should be all set. Edited by bwilloby46

Did you try the different settings? Will the bilsteins act better at a lower setting with a larger spacer or the opposite?

I did try the 2nd setting before the top. A little stiffer ride on top setting that I noticed but that's expected as I added 10ply tires at the same time. My opinion avoid the lower spacer with the 5100s if you can since they are designed for height adjustment. Anything over 2.5" your at higher risk for premature ball joint issues. All depends on how much clearance you want Really.

Definitely. I'm thinking 0.5-1.25" top hat with the 5100s. I have the shocks ordered. It's just a matter of adjustment w/ installation now.

I have to get a front and rear spacer as well, considering the rough country kit and selling the 2" lower spacer.
