Here's something else that drives me crazy. I have my iPhone connected by Bluetooth and I never know when I get a text. There's no alert from my phone or truck speakers. Anyone know a workaround to get my alerts?

The same things bother both of us, smokey! Very annoying!

Seems the only way to get an alert is if you are streaming music from the iPhone.

We have an Ford Escape with the my touch and it display text right on the screen and reads them... It would be nice if GM would integrate that into the my link systems.

All though for me I mostly ignore the phone when I'm driving. Just take the odd call through the Bluetooth.

nice tips. I have the SLE All-Terrain with powerfold mirrors and as mentioned, there is no option to have them auto fold when pressing the lock/unlock button on the fob. Oh well...

With regard to the free 2yr oil changes, my dealer also told me they won't change it unless there is less than 20% life remaining.

they should open and close with the key for, my set does. Holding the unlock button opens and holding the lock closes them. Unless the sle/all terrain is different?

New member here but loving my new ride. Just wanted to say this was a great thread, thanks for the info!

mcnwil, the SLE AT is different for some reason. That's what others also posted back in the earlier pages of this thread. Holding the lock button does not fold my mirrors in, and there is no setting for it in the DIC.

For the 8" dash screen, I also read the trick about touching the time in the upper right corner to bring up the larger clock on the screen. I then tried touching the outside temperature in the upper left corner, and at the bottom of the screen popped up the current HVAC temperature and fan settings.

Also in case anyone wants to race and power brake the truck! Always turn off t/c button because this feature will reduce power if you try to brake torque engine or stall engine up at all! Kinda a no brainer but jst FYI!!!

if you turn off T/C and press and hold it down it also turns stabilitack off. Great for doing donuts in the snow if that's your thing. Learned this years ago in a new Cadillac STS

Each dealer has a different philosophy on this.

My service manager doesn't care what the oil life monitor says. If I want my free oil changes every month for 4 months that's fine with them.

If you want it changed, just take it to another service department.

Not really a tip or trick but I noticed that if I'm sitting still and my A/C is on and I crack the window the fan speed kicks up a little.

Also, if you are using the radio as a hands free device, when a call comes in or goes out the fan speed slows down to a quieter level.....

Nav equiped trucks.

When the low fuel light goes on two bottons will show up in the 8" screen. Dismiss and more info (or something like that), touch the more info (or..) and it will show you the nearest gas station.

Yeah, it will turn off stabilitrack, but once you get up to 30-35 MPH it defaults back on. At least it does in Drive. I need to try it in Manual to see if it is the same.

The Traction Control will stay off though.

Not on my HC. If the temp is set and it's not been satisfied, the fan stays wide open. I have to adjust it manually.

Anyone know if it is possible to connect a (SamDisk or similar) MP3 player to the Intellilink System?
