Thanks Jon. I took the plunge and ordered the AFE.

Good thing you did .. I emailed S&B again and they are now looking at a LATE September release. Maybe they will have one out by the end of the year at this rate :shakehead:

What are the benefits of buying a CAI system with a dry filter versus an oiled filter?

Same question.

I have the AFE Momentum GT Stage-2 with the dry filter and like it a lot. Data logging shows it should be worth a significant bump in power.

this really looks like a nice set up, i'd love to see the dyno on teh numbers if they did in fact come close to those numbers

Are they ever going too make the mit for our trucks?

Check out the Airaid MIT. The truck already has a CAI, you just need the tube and a lower restriction filter to get the same benefits as a $300 CAI. Any HP or MPG gains are marginal at best though. If you check the data, most CAI "performance improvements" happen at 5,000 rpm or above.

FYI.....you're in the 2014 section.....the Airaid MIT isn't available for the 2014 yet.

I installed the AFE momentum stage 2 with dry filter last night....OMG. It's like it woke the 6.2L up and unleashed more ponys. Great sound too.

Same question.

With the older engines the oiled filters were okay but I've found with the new engines the MAF sensors are more sensitive and the oiled filters tend to mess with their readings so most people I know are switching over to the dry filter systems.

I would also avoid them in a direct injection engine as they already tend to burp up a small amount of oil already into the intake.

So that's my opinion older engines ok new engines avoid.

I'm so torn on which CAI to get haha. They all seem very close. I spend more time reading these darn threads only confusing myself even further haha

Is there any down side to installing a CAI?

Edit: never mind, I see my question was already answered.

I had a vibration with my AFE Momentum Stage 2....Ran two large zip ties over it and it now has been great. Much much happier w/o the vibration.

Where was the cai vibrating ?
