Let’s see, I’ve been busy with this truck.

New steering wheel

Pedal commander

Borla S-Type exhaust

Airaid intake and high flow filter

JTL catch can

Getting ready to do these when not so cold:

2” level

Yukon Dinali instrument cluster swap

Maybe

Katzkin leather upgrade

New wheels and tires

12.1” nav replacement

Does a 2018 2500HD Duramax L5P count as a K2?  If so- then I plugged in the block heater for a few hours, then fired her up.  -2 degrees at the time here in Denver.  (now -6 as of 1:40AM) Ran her at elevated idle for about 20 min while I cleared off the snow and allowed the batteries to charge up a bit since I haven't driven her in a few days in these low temps.  Made a mental note that at the next oil change, I'm going full synthetic from there on out.  She started just fine, the block heater aka coolant heater did her job, but the benefits of full synthetic are there.

Washed the salt off of it as well as cleaned the dash, cleaned the salt off the inside of the foot wells. Just looking forward to the spring so I can do a deep cleaning

I wished I would have unraveled the cord for my block heater last summer. I hope she starts been sitting a few days.793fa07fa8e1bfcbfa9153fa73ec63a2.jpg

It was a brisk one this weekend.. Even with a brand new Interstate 850 CCA battery it struggled turning over yesterday morning leaving the hotel. This 30 degree weather coming this weekend will be like t-shirt weather!

Yep, 0W40, 5W40, 10W40 and 15W40 all have the same 100 C viscosity range (for example).

Same is true for *W20 or *W30 multi-grade oils.

I put a 790 CCA NAPA Legend battery in a couple months ago. It turned over for about 6-7 seconds before it fired up this morning. Been sitting all weekend. It turned over fairly fast considering....4a455cc1cb10c7a7cf0835898a70fe17.jpg

BTW the long crank to start is normal when it gets this cold.

Cam said so.[emoji23]

Today i had some dumbass slam on their brakes in front of me thankfully my truck is good only a few scratches, dumba$$ girl didn’t want to give me her insurance since she cut me off and slammed on her brakes for no reason nothing in front of her (I did give her the finger for not letting me change lanes though [emoji23]) her car needs a new bumper, trunk and taillight [emoji38]

I would have a shop look at it. Those brackets bend super easy behind the bumper. Measure the gap between the bumper and grill/lights/front wheel wells. That’s what happened to mine when a girl slammed on her brakes at a stop sign after she started going because “she got scared”. Bumper wasn’t too bad, but the brackets were toast and bumper was all misaligned.

Found out my AMP Power Steps don't like salt, snow, ice, and -0 temps. Neither will fully retract, due to the "safety" feature of too much resistance. Looks like a deep cleaning of all the hinges is in store first thing this Spring.
