What have you done to your K2 today?

Recommended Posts

Today I changed the transmission fluid on the truck, I think I'm going to begin doing it routinely every 30,000 miles; last I did it was at 88,000. It was a little bit dirty, but honestly, not bad at all and nothing that made me concerned.

Also - add me to the club! I installed the updated thermal bypass valve. Typically on my way home from work (35-45 minute drive) I was around the 185 range; sometimes a little bit higher depending on traffic and the weather. After installing the new part, I think the highest I got to was about 163. Very happy with that number and curious to see what it is like during the hotter summer months. 🙂

Had some time today so I decided to finish up the truck. Good thing i didn’t rush to start it yesterday. The wastegate line was hook up wrong. Here’s a quick little short on how it sounds. Haven’t really got on it yet. Gonna give it at least 500 miles of break-in.

Cleaned up a few rust spots on the frame and hit them with some Rustoleum Rust Reformer and satin black paint. Did the same thing last fall and those spots still look good. Coated inside the frame and crossmembers with Dexron 3 ATF to hopefully keep the frame from rusting from the inside. Used a rechargeable sprayer and a 2’ nozzle that came with the cavity wax I sprayed inside the body panels. 3463319D-A15D-4B93-8003-DC66662BB515.thumb.jpeg.2821dce72fa0d6c5444aeffd90400bca.jpeg
