What have you done to your K2 today?

Recommended Posts

How do you like the way the line-x on the steps turned out? Mind if I ask cost? Close up picks?

I pulled mine the other day with this in mind but I'm debating.
$200. Turned out extremely well. Probably dependent on the shop. My chrome was chipping horribly where shops were hitting them with lifts. It was this or $1500 for Amp power steps.

Haven't posted anything in a while but just had the truck in the shop this past week for some major upgrades. 4 inch BDS with DSC Coilovers and rear leaf packs. 2 inch Bora spacers in the rear for balance. Steps sprayed with Line-X (chrome was chipping). 20x9 +24 Snow Flakes in Gunmetal with machine finish. 295/60r20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. And the hidden gem behind the wheels...Wilwood brakes all around. I also had the exhaust done but it's way too loud for me so going back Monday for a muffler swap.

That stance with the wheel/tire/brake combo is absolutely perfect.

Had a great time yesterday talking mods with you Bubbles. Your lower air dam looks great, guess we didn't hack it up too much! Truck looks good with the steps back on too.

There's something I love about that paint color...

BDS said the lift would push the front out 1.5 inches on each side. The stock track in the front is .75 more than the back on each side. I figured 2 inch Bora spacers would be as close to perfect as I could make it. I'm not sure if the brakes increased it or not but I don't have a single bit of rub. The shop trimmed my lower valance in the front a hair but I don't think it would have hit regardless.

Washed and detailed my truck. Also added foot well lights under all four seats and some in the center console as well. These are the lights I went with:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003NV83BG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I went ahead and added a dash cam and did the cargo light diode mod as well.

I went with this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0771DYFTZ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Reason being is that they come with capacitors and here in Texas it can get pretty hot.

I'm tempted to return it and get one that has a camera in the back as well like this one:

F me.. my wife made me do the same thing lol.  Every truck I had owned in the past, I bought without her there.  I had the dealer remove the steps before taking it home, so I could say "Sorry, it didn't come with steps".. but she was with me this time.  She saw the steps on there, and told me I had to keep them.  I took them off last week, to "clean" them.. but I was really hoping that she'd realize it isn't hard to get in the truck without them.. boy was I wrong!  She complained all week, and I finally got tired of it and slapped them back on.

Once I finish up my color matching, I will snag some Go Rhino D6s.  The stock chrome steps work for now, with the chrome bumpers.

Noticed this in the tire Saturday, so made a pit stop at discount tire. Turns out it only punctured enough for a slow leak, tire read 22 psi on the dash, didn't even look low. They were able to patch it up no problem. 301337648dcea5f27c02eb1b9d901f45.jpg

No, we did not strap down where you see, that is only to take up the loose ends of the straps, too bad the lens had white dots all over it, would have been a great pick. Having the lift installed Monday, can't wait!

20180721_135323.jpg

So today we drove 2.5 hrs to the other side of the state to drop off the kid and his bike mounted as you see in the pic, with a couch in the back. Got 17 mpg doing 70-75 mph all the way there, 21.5 on the way back, combined with the trip there. It was 71 degrees, heavy humidity, engine temp kept splitting 210 degrees, couldn't ask for much more...

Back from the body shop from the guy who backed into my truck. New front bumper, new passenger side tow hook, repaint of the bumper top bumper top, and skid plate and replaced the black plastic around the town hooks. (Idiot did 2k in damage). No note or anything left from the hit. Glad it’s back though.
