Your wife has ignored the car telling her the battery is getting low in the remote. Or your car needs to be checked by the dealer for a problem.

My TL was driven for almost 2 weeks being reminded I had a low battery.

No warning, car just randomly does it....

Really enjoying my 2014 Sierra but am having trouble getting over the lack of passive entry / push button start. WHY WAS THIS DONE?!

I constantly start the truck before I walk out my front door, on my way to the truck, etc. I live in Florida, it's a spectacular feature made frustrating by this goof.

By the time I get to the truck I have to stop, put down the items I'm carrying, rummage through my pockets, dig out the keys, unlock, put keys back in pocket, get in truck, get keys back out of pocket, and put in the ignition of the already running vehicle...

This HAS to be the only $35k+ car on the road today that does not have the feature. What gives GM?

It's a minor feature but so perfectly irritating because of it's ubiquity in other brands, models, etc. To be fair, I've never owned a car that had either remote start OR passive entry / push button start. Matter of fact the only reason it's such an annoyance is because the truck is already running and you then HAVE to put the key in the ignition.

The lack of HIDs - is my other minor gripe but a couple hundred bucks squares that away and makes me a happy camper.

I tend to agree with you on this one. My sister has a 2009 Mazda 6 and it has push button start, passive entry and HID's on a $25k car. I can see if they put the push button start in the higher end models, SLT/Denali that gave a reason to pay the extra bucks and differentiate them from the lower models but to exclude it all together doesn't make much sense to me. Matter of fact, there are a whole bunch of features our trucks don't have that plenty of sub-$25k cars have nowadays. That being said, this is the nicest truck I have ever owned and aside for a few minor things I am more than pleased with it!

If they put that trash on mid- trim trucks I'll buy elsewhere. That crap is a novelty for secondary cars. I don't want to trust the radio in one to decide if I can or can't start the truck. My dad had one get smashed on his Nissan and I had to run out with the spare. Even if you kill the fob on a truck now the key will still do everything you need. Limit it to the high tier stuff I'll never own or make it a standalone option. I may be in the minority here but truck buyers are traditionalists, they won't want these fragile, expensive toys thrown at them.

fair enough but at least make it an option.....

They can take the pushbutton ignition and put it with pivot bucket seats.

I've already experienced the faults of this stupid feature. My wife got out of her car with the fob and sent me on an errand in her car while she shopped. I got to my destination and realized i wouldnt be able to start the car if i shut it off...luckily. What moron thought of this device?

I had push button start on my last car. I honestly don't miss the push button feature. but I do miss the proximity unlock, although I still had to push a button on the door handle to unlock/lock.

Oh well.

Trade your 2014 in on a 2015, i bet those will have push button and proximity like the tahoes and suburbans.

I can imagine a pest control company or municipality with a fleet of push button trucks in their parking lot, at night, steps away from the office, where the keys are.

we're shopping for a new car for my wife and we drove a 2014 honda civic with passive keyless entry and push button start. it's a neat feature, i wish my truck had it. the civic we're getting is a $25K car. considering how much we all pay for our trucks, i'd like to see this as a standard option.

I could live with out the keyless start. I would like keyless entry. Those little key pads would be nice sometimes when I dont want to have the key on me.

I'd just like to be able to use the switchblade style key, but the current setup works fine and is more secure to me.

It does not matter to me if dodge has better sales. I like the look of my GMC better
