VENDOR MVI's HMI Upgrade Thread Video/Nav Entry in Motion, Textin

The input I got from the infotainment engineer is that any changes they made from the MY14 to MY15 system would not be backwards compatible. I thought that was dumb and Chris probably could go into more detail. It seems for what ever the reason hardware and software changes were needed to get advertised features to work, plus with all of the radio issues it wouldn't surprise me if that played into this as well.

Yup it was a big coordinated change across every module on the MOST bus. Lots of changes, going backwards causes serious issues including random system crashes etc.

I saw that they can enable MHL (video) from a cell phone even if you don't have RSE. Can we get some info on this? Does it require a MHL/Micro USB cable plugged into the stock stereo? I realize it may take a HMI software hack to enable aux, but I'm more curious about the hardware. I'd love to do cell phone mirror without having RSE.

Hi there I have a 2015 Silverado High Country up in Vancouver, BC. I have tried to watch the video you have posted on this tread and havent been able too. It says that it is a private video...

I am really interested in getting the hmi unlocked. Can someone please get back to me on this.

Thanks chan2015Rado

OK, here is my question. Will I be able to watch videos off of my iTunes? I've read through all of this and it shows the mirroring capability through streaming video, but I never saw a video played that was stored on the iPhone. I would imagine that his would only be possible on 30 PIN devices since the lightning cables do not have that ability, correct?

what is the updated pricing? I know its an old thread, but I'd lov eto have this on my '14

We have a way to do the video in motion on the trucks. Here is the link:

I just pulled the trigger with Anthony at MVI,

Trying their Video In-Motion Audio/Video Input Module with the Smartphone mirroring HDMI Interface, mainly for use with Google Nav for now and other apps later. It does have two extra composite A/V inputs that may come in handy for front and rear cameras or something if I get time play.

They don't have detailed instructions for my new 15.5 Silverado split bench fold down armrest version, but they will help anyway they can as they do for the full console. I can help with that if everything goes as planned.
