I'll admit I haven't been a big fan of the new trucks until I saw a Sierra All Terrain package in person. If all goes as planned, I hope to have a Summit White one in my garage this coming March.

Is there really any differences between the All Terrain and non-All Terrain besides rims and painted bumpers. I noticed they seem to be a little pricier for some reason, maybe other options are included. For those that have the All Terrain, how do you like it? Any suggestions on options? I occasionally trailer a 5000lbs boat in the summer and deer hunt, but most of the time it will be on the highway racking up a lot of miles for work (just driving, no towing).

I heard you should buy at the end of the month or quarter, but since I get GMS pricing do other incentives count?

Thanks for any feedback.

Grill is specific, as are the seats. Carbon fiber look seats, all shiny chrome dash inserts are now dark polished aluminum, carbon fiber look/specific gauge cluster, wood interior panels replaced w/ carbon fiber look, all stitching is red, stainless steel sill plates w/ AT logo, AT logos on doors/tailgate, lots of standard options such as heated steering wheel, tow hooks, hill descent control, etc. Can't remember what else. With the exception of the full digital dash, cooled/lane departure seats and the overly blinged grill, it's a poor boy's Denali.

I absolutely love every inch of this truck. Suggested options, 6.2L (obviously), integrated trailer brake controller (get this even if you don't think you need. cause you do. and you can't add later. and it's cheap. no it's not standard), driver's side entry handle, the cool 20's NZT rims optional but kinda make the truck if you ask me.

I have a 5.3 All Terrian with 3:.42 rear axel. You still get good towing for the weight you are talking but can still get some millage out of it. I average 19.5 to 21 mpg. This depends on what you drive I'm on the highway more with just a small amount of city driving so getting a bit better.

The 6.2 nice but I would only go for that if you were hard core towing in my opinion.

The 3.08 gives the best millage but is not a real good gear for towing.

Get the integrated brake controller at suggested. This is the only option I didn't get that I would have liked but I found mine on the lot so took it as it sat.

I have a summit white All Terrain package. I don't have the painted bumpers. Paint on the bumpers tend to chip like crazy so I opted for one that had the chrome bumpers instead. There is a thread on here where many members talked about about the paint chipping.

As far as the differences between the SLT and the All Terrain, mine has the red stitching instead of the white and the interior has some carbon fiber trim differences. The rims are different but not drastically. Same style different color.

I am not sure there is a great deal of other things that are different. I love mine.

I forgot. The painted bumper this is real. If you like, you will NEED seething to protect like xpel or the like. It's bad. Real bad.

Oh, and as for 5.3 vs 6.2, if you have serious concerns over gas mileage, do yourself a favor and never drive a 6.2.

Cause if u do before u order, then you'll hate yourself (briefly-just a little) for all the impact to the environment and your pocketbook. Cause you'll then own one.

And if you drive one after you've ordered a 5.3, then you'll just straight up hate yourself.

Either way, get the 3.42

I have chrome bumpers on my all terrain 6.2... Bought it spontaneously as I also wasn't sold on GM looks until I saw mine. ;)

Thank you all for the input! Very helpful to say the least. I haven't seen an AT with chrome bumpers...any pics? I will definitely opt for the 3.42 gears. More than likely go with the 5.3L, but I will do more research on its big brother.

I have others. I can send if you like. This was taken the day after I signed papers. It has the chrome bumpers option.

My take is that if you're ordering a truck, piece together what you want and skip the AT package. You can get most of the stuff in various packages or individual options. The Z71 package is the biggie functional part of the AT.

I have an AT and the seats just piss me off when I look at them. I paid for a leather interior and they put the AT "Carbon fiber" panels on the seats, which cover about half the seat. These "Carbon fiber" panels are vinyl. What a joke. ...and it's on me. :bs: These "Carbon fiber" vinyl panels are on the outer panels of the seat where the most wear occurs. They won't take the wear as well as leather.

Order an SLT with the perforated leather seats.
