Side note: Why do I keep noticing these great looking black trucks ever since I saw the debut of the Silverado Midnight edition?.. I looked at that truck and said "Wow that looks sweeeeet!" but then told myself that I already have a black car and I don't "need" 2 black vehicles...even though I do really like black..

I bought it used. It's a 2014 SLE with the 5.3L V8. It has leather, 20" tires and a ton of other options. Only thing it doesn't have that I want is Nav. I'm waiting to find out from the dealer what it would cost to install a factory nav update. The bed liner was sprayed in today. Now I'm just waiting on the dealership to get the title so I can pick it up. I signed the paperwork on Tues. The wait is killing me.

Thank you for the compliments on the truck. This is the EXACT truck I was wishing for and I was going to buy one with fewer options for $ reasons, but I stumbled across this one used and got a great deal on it. It's more than I could have afforded new, so I'm psyched. I even had my heart set on black.

Why don't you need 2 black vehicles? The constant wanting to wash them because black shows everything? lol

When I had my 98 I started to want a black truck. Then when looking for a new truck (new to me at least) was this black truck with everything I wanted and didn't have the things I didn't care for or want. I told him what I had to have and wanted and he gave me 3 color choices and once he said black I said yup black or something like that lol. If you want a black truck when you look for a newer one then get it.

Black is hard to keep clean, but man does it look nice when you wash and polish it up.

In the summer and whenever it's warm enough I washed mine every weekend lol. Part of that is just being that it's my first brand new truck and I want to take care of it, not just because it's black. Being the first dark color truck I found out about water spots after washing it if I just part it, so I bought one of those squeegees that are made to rake the water off the body. Never had to do that to my last truck because it was Pewter and my truck before that was midnight blue but it was an old 86 so I never washed it lol. So far I haven't even wax and polished it, but a good wash is all it really needs. Last week I got pissed off because I pressure washed it and then got it a little muddy so I had to power wash it again lol. I need to buy my own pressure washer sooner or later.

Being that it's a brand new truck and some chrome looks awesome with black while black accessories also look awesome with it, I don't mind washing it every week when it's warm enough lol. My old 98 I didn't care and was no reason to since within a week it would be muddy again.
