I purchased my 14 GMC Sierra in August of last year. Build date is sometime in June.

Had to go back to the dealer once for the transfer case recall.

Rides great for a 4WD pickup and has great traction in the snow.

I would buy this truck again.

I had a 2014 silverado lt double cab, loved it. I traded it in for a 2014 LTZ silverado z71, love it even more.

I have 32k trouble free miles on my '14 Silverado. The only things I have done are oil changes.

Don't be fooled into thinking that the K2XX is not a good truck. It really is a fantastic truck.

I don't think I could get past the fact the OP said $700/mo for a car payment. Yikes!!!!

Unless you are paying cash or have a decent trade or down payment $700 seems right.... 800 or 900 if borrowing 52k for a Denali and only borrowing for 60 months.

yeah no way I could swing a 700 a month payment. well I prob could but there is no way I would. I make decent money but if that was my truck payment I would not be able to buy as much toys / crap as I do now. I had a decent trade in and had been saving money for about 4 months before I bought my truck to get my payment where I wanted and got everything I wanted nothing I didn't want on my truck when I ordered it.

to the OP this forum is great for information but like everyone else said it is no way a true represenitive for the rest of the GM truck population out there. I have had very minor issues with my truck but it is nothing that is out of the "norm" for a first year truck hell even just a new truck no matter the year. this is by far the best truck I have owned. the ford / dodge trucks are nice but their engines are much more complicated to work on than any GM motor in my opinion. I love my pushrod ls motors, they are by far the best platform engines that any manufacturer has ever developed.

They aren't perfect, but what is? If you look around enough you'll find problems and/or something to complain about from EVERY make and EVERY model - that's just how it is. Cars and trucks aren't crafted by the hand of Zeus they're bolted together on an assembly line in the real world - nothing is perfect.

While I have no doubt you love your '06 - it is not the same caliber vehicle as a '14+ by any stretch of the imagination. The V6 2014+ trucks are more capable than your '06 5.3 - just sayin....

FWIW - I had a 2007 Chevy Silverado LTZ that was passed on to me by my dad and I then sold to a friend - truck now has 130,000 miles on it and no issues at all. First year for that new body/engine style and ownership went without a hitch - those '07 trucks had complaints too if you recall.

I have owned 8 trucks and 61 cars in my lifetime, so I have a little experience behind me when I say, my GMC Denali is the best vehicle I have ever owned in my life. The only thing close were my last two Vettes. Last year, when I was posting here calm most daily, I think everyone knew how great I thought my truck was, and it has only gotten better with age. There never was a down side to it, from the day I drove it off the lot on Nov. 7, 2013. Just thought I would share once again.

Father in law has a 6.2/8spd,and has had all the trans issues, still unresolved. 4 guys at work have them, and NONE havent made at least 2 trips back for issues. One of them has had 2 transmissions, an injector harness, and a power seat motor fail.

Couple that with the issues I see online and yeah, call me skeptical.

I was SUPER stoked when I heard about the 6.2 for this gen, and was dead set on one.

Now, no way in hell.

A lot of you guys missed this post, just saying. Pretty sure that the idea of the site is to have people come back. Not run them off.

I love my 2014 Black Silverado Z71. No problems so far after 11k miles. This past Saturday I purchased moto medal wheels Toyo tires and a procomp stage 2 lift at 4wheel parts march madness sale. I can't wait until the parts come in and the 6inch lift is installed.

Oh did I say I love my 2014 Silverado?
