GM announced this week that is recalling 2016 and 2017 Silverado 1500s, Cadillac Escalade, Cadillac Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Suburban, Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Sierra, GMC Yukon and GMC Yukon XL vehicles. In total about 5,000 vehicles are included in this recall.

GM says that "Inadequate welds may allow the control arm to separate from the bushing, compromising steering and increasing the risk of a crash." The fix is not yet ready. GM will be sending out a preliminary notice soon, followed by a second mailing when the remedy is ready for implementation. Any idea what they're talking about here? Weld allowing the control arm to separate from a bushing? Would this be an A-arm? If so they'll have to replace a-arms, that can be done in the service dept. I dont think they'd be welding on your frame in the shop though.. would they?

I think that's what they are trying to figure out. It is vague, that's why I quoted it rather than try to translate. Sorry I don't have more.
