I totally misread this. I thought he was asking about a hud retrofit with lane departure. Lane keep assist requires a bunch of different hardware including a different steering rack LOL

shucks....Since the steering is Electronically controlled )even on the 2015's), Thought it was a software enhancement

Edit... I just looked at the parts lists between the 2015 LTZ, 2016 LTZ and 217 Premier, and other than color options, I found no additional parts, nor different part numbers (controller, steering column, steering wheel, steering motor, wire harness, nothing in the steering section...possible windshield mounted camera upgrade and 'trac switch' to left of steering wheel

Perhaps it is just a software enhancement utilizing the electric powered steering.

For anyone interested...here is a decent article explaining how LKA works

What’s the difference between lane departure warning and lane keep assist? What other hardware is needed for lane keep assist?

Other than activating or deactivating by pressing the Lane Keep Assist button on the left side of the interment panel  and some software changes, I don't know what other hardware is used. (was hoping it was just software, but I guess that's not the case)

For anyone needing a 2018 Diesel UHS (Denali) cluster, I have one for sale here on the forum.

Has anyone heard from Chris at White Automotive lately.  I have been emailing back and fourth over the past couple weeks.  I was told once I get my cluster in to pay for it on the website and ship it to him.  I finally received my cluster and the website states "Not Available" and I can't pay.  I just wanted to make sure everything was ok.

Most likely closed due to backlog of orders. This happens from time to time when they are swamped with orders.

Thanks for the info.  I'll keep checking back.

Do the "Denali-style" clusters have all the info pages of the regular clusters?  Like the "Off Road" page that shows the tilt of the vehicle, turning degree, etc.

Guys, take heed, I ordered my cluster from GM Parts direct and the order was rejected 2 days later, they claimed dealer only part.

then i ordered from GM parts giant, after 2 days and no confirming email, (just a paypal hold), I was able to track their phone number down via the BBB web site, called them, they claimed they emailed and there was a price increase (verified they had correct  email spelling and yet I found no such emails in spam folder or inbox), regardless, canceled over phone and still not seeing cancellation email, beware...

Meanwhile, had enough...ordered my cluster from specmo, price was very good.

only caveat, no warranty if no core exchange and not being sent to dealer for programming, I’m good with that ?

Will send it to Chris for hud programming.

Anyone have a list of options (like off road info) that can be enabled beyond what’s already part of vin/installed options?

Have the HUD enabled.

Having the HUD enabled is the reason I am doing the upgrade..as I had referenced in my post.

I'm very excited about this.

I was just asking to see if there are other features I can get enabled.

Victorrocks15...great looking rig, love the blacked putt look

... is that a 'HUD' compatible windshield?

If anyone is looking for a 2016 Blue/Green cluster, this one popped up on eBay this morning. This is the first one I have seen in a year that was used on eBay. Was going to do this for my Silverado, but on the fence about keeping the truck. Figured I would pass a great deal on to someone who might be waiting.

    • Welcome back! No, it definitely doesn't pass the sniff test. Even "ceasefire" needs an alternative definition these days.    $5.29 at Kroger today
    • That makes sense, and I think you are describing the real product problem. Capturing data is the easy part. If the owner or technician has to manually dig through five minutes of millisecond-level logs, the product has already failed. The device would be at the ECM harness, not at the OBD port, so I agree that data retrieval and event marking need to be thought through carefully. The way I am thinking about the architecture is: The recorder itself should not depend on a phone, app, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or cloud connection to capture the event. It should always keep a local rolling buffer and lock the event locally. A button, phone app, or small cabin device would only act as an event marker. If the driver feels a stumble and presses the button 10–30 seconds later, the pre-buffer has to already contain the useful data. For data retrieval, the practical options would be a sealed service USB lead, Wi-Fi download, or a phone/cabin companion device. I would not expect the owner to remove the ECM-side module or work with raw files directly. The cloud or AI side would be for interpretation, not for capturing the event. The truck may have no connection when the issue happens, so the evidence has to be saved locally first. After that, cloud processing could help decode the data, compare it against baselines, and generate a readable report. For the first version, I would keep the automatic triggers conservative and objective: driver event marker bus-off error passive voltage drop / brownout device reset FIFO or queue overflow a normally periodic message disappearing side-to-side communication mismatch, if the topology supports that For “learning normal,” I agree with your point, but I would not want to overclaim it as automatic root-cause diagnosis at first. A realistic first step would be learned baseline comparison for that specific vehicle and operating condition. For example, a value would only be compared against similar conditions: RPM range load / MAP throttle position gear / vehicle speed coolant and oil temperature battery voltage AFM/DFM state, if decoded and validated Then the report could flag things like: this periodic message disappeared compared with its normal timing this value deviated from this vehicle’s normal range under similar conditions the same abnormal pattern repeated after the same type of event the anomaly occurred together with voltage, oil-pressure, misfire, or communication changes But I would still call that “abnormal pattern detected,” not “replace this part,” unless there is enough validated repair data behind it. So the intended product would not be “here is a huge log.” It would need to be an event package: what triggered the capture how much pre/post data was preserved what changed before and after the event whether the device itself reset, overflowed, or saw a bus error selected graphs around the event raw data only as supporting evidence From your perspective, what would make this kind of report useful instead of just another datalog? For example: What are the top 5 parameters or events you would want highlighted first? Would you trust a learned baseline for that specific vehicle, or would you prefer fixed thresholds? How much false-positive flagging would be acceptable before you stopped looking at the reports? What would a one-page report need to show for an independent shop to take it seriously? For misfire, AFM/DFM, oil pressure, or U-code complaints, what would you want the tool to flag automatically?
