Actually step 1 is read this thread and find your own part number (or cut a hole in a box) from the list then email to confirm and the rest is correct LOL

For those of you who are interested on adding the HUD functionality to your Silverado or Sierra it will soon become possible.

I’ve been working close on the parts fitment/modifications needed with another member from the forum. Here’s a few pictures. I have my Denali cluster coming soon from WAMS and once it arrives I’ll put everything together.

I just had my Denali cluster programmed by WAMs. It works great! I’m following this because I want the HUD also. HUD upgrade was part of the programming, so that part is done.

I have the Collision alert, so there is already a projector in the dash. Will I be able to tap into that?

The Driver Alert module is different than the HUD module. The HUD will replace the Driver Alert module.

when I read the above, it made me wonder - if I purchased all the necessary hardware for the HUD upgrade, and send the cluster in for programming, would you be able to upgrade my lane departure warning to lane keep assist?

What’s the difference between lane departure warning and lane keep assist? What other hardware is needed for lane keep assist?

I totally misread this. I thought he was asking about a hud retrofit with lane departure. Lane keep assist requires a bunch of different hardware including a different steering rack LOL

Correct. The speed limit icon is not available on 2014/2015 models. It was added around 2016 with the 2.5 HMI module.

The speed limit icon showed up on my 2015 Sierra with the 2.0 HMI.

Lol I thought that was the case. Converting to lane keep assist isn’t necessary for things to work correctly with a 2016 cluster, radio and 2.5 HMI in a 2015 is it?

No sir! just have to make sure everything is on the same bus revision etc. We'd really like to program all of it to keep everything kosher.
