What is the real cost

I am looking at a 2016 slt that I know my local dealer needs to get off the lot before the end of the year. It has a lift kit and some other custom work already done to it. They are listing it as $19,450 add on. I am trying to get an idea of what the real cost of the add ons are. Description:

Seems very similar to a Rocky Ridge setup that is normally listed as a $16K-18K package or so. I had a local dealer get the price down on a Rocky Ridge Alpine to just about MSRP of the base truck for me (full disclosure, this was with GM Employee Discount pricing). Didn't pull the trigger, but the deal was there.

the parts themselves are probably costing about $8-9k if you were to buy them separately. Labor to install all of that is another cost. I bet they are making at least $5k off of that package if they are selling it at MSRP of $19.5k

See if you can get a written statement from the dealer that the factory warranty will remain in effect before buying.

After a little research, it appears that warranty work could be a big issue, depending on the dealer and where the owner is trying to get service. SCA gives a 3-36 warranty on all of their products/installs. The problem I see is the part about the engine/transmission tune. The way I read it, they guarantee the tune only. So lets say there is a lifter failure, GM is going to blame the tune and deny the claim, and SCA could very well say that the tune has nothing to do with a lifter failing.

 

From their warranty booklet:

ENGINE COMPONENTS/TUNING

Aftermarket engine components and/or SCA Performance proprietary tuning

may have been installed on your custom

vehicle. The warranty for these items

is 3 yr. / 36,000 mi. for construction/workmanship and/or product defect.

NOTE:

If vehicle is driven after SCA Performance certified tune has been

modified or removed, this action voids warranty.

No way GM will honor the factory warranty if there's a tune and something breaks that they could tie back to the tune; the dealer would have to honor it and SCA will honor it. Obviously it would specific to that dealer
