I sent you a PM.

Hi am new to form, I have 2017 silverado ltz, looking to upgrade my dl3 mirrors to the towing mirrors... I have been looking at the 1AMRP01786 towing mirrors, then I came across AM-2558332961 from am auto…they look identical to the trail ridge ones and they are cheaper. Does anyone know if they are the same? I emailed am auto and they did not tell me the manufacturer of the mirrors

They are the same mirror. 1AMRP01786 is the base mirror that supports Memory and has the bonus Puddle Lamps.

Here is a list all the mirrors that are identical to 01786. The AM Auto link underneath each 1A Auto link is the same mirror.

The differences between these are the mirror caps and if you need the K40 temp sensor. If you order any of these mirrors, you’ll get 01786. If you order a set with chrome caps or Temp sensor, you’ll get 01786 and a separate box for the option you choose.

The prices fluctuate so check the links for the current prices.

1A offers lifetime warranty, AM Auto has 10-year warranty.

Good Luck.

I just wanted to thank Phil for being the real MVP on this topic! I wish I researched a little more before I trusted the dealer. (It would have saved about a months worth of hassle and time). He confirmed part numbers and was a big help in the harnesses. I put factory DQS mirrors on my 2016 Silverado LTZ Midnight.

I opted for Phil's diy harness on my truck was willing to do the work myself and saved some money that way. The write up on it is step by step took me a couple hours including taping the harness back up with proper matching harness tape. I love when the Dealerships says no way and guys like Phil smirk and get to work, thank again Phil

Modjunky, do you have any tips for the diy harness, did you need any special tools, was the harness tape included? Also did you have to install the rzy jumper harness and if so, any tips on that?

I just replaced my factory "small" side mirrors with the 1A Auto tow mirrors with the power fold option.  I have to echo everyone else who has said pgamboa was a huge help.  His harnesses were perfect and his help through the whole process was second to none!  He answered all my questions from before I even bought anything through "what do I do with my old mirrors".  Excuse the dirty truck!

Mirrors look good I have the same ones on mine do you notice any mirror vibration on the top glass? Also I sold mine on eBay for like 100 bucks I think.

You can buy the harness tape off amazon dirt cheap. It’s really easy if your good with taking things apart and being careful on the plastic pieces. Other then that it’s nothing overly challenging. As far as the rzy jumper pull your door connection off at the jam. I took like 50 pics on my iPhone. Then compared it to the pic on the thread phil started. If all the pins are there your good to go. Phil’s harness or diy kit is top notch. Phil is the man that made all this possible lol.

Thanks wish me luck. Just to be clear. The thread you mention is this one right, or is there another thread specific to the jumper harness install?

Here is a good video (recently made) by Tinkering Fox. He shows the details of the RZY Harness Install.

I do have a slight glass vibration on my upper glass from my 1AM power fold row mirrors. The lower mirrors do not at all. To me it’s not a huge deal. I love the new mirrors, and all of the new functions!

Exactly the same with mine it’s not bad was just wondering if it was mine specific but wouldn’t change a thing.

When I installed the 1A Mirror and an OEM (Non-Power Fold) DPN Mirror, I drove for 10 miles down the highway at various speeds. I notice some vibration on the upper glass on both mirrors. Since I don’t own tow mirrors, I can only base my experience on the short test. They both had about the same amount of vibration.

Maybe@wheelie can give more feedback. He switched from 1A to DQS Mirrors.
