I'm guessing a switch to make the vehicle inoperable for security purposes.

Yup - Exactly! There have been 2-3 reported thefts in the Dallas area where these trucks are stolen in under 2 minutes! When I did the “How to start your truck without the HMI” video, it got me thinking about intercepting the same or similar High Speed GMLAN to a hidden spot. I would then land it into a connector and with a mating end that could be connected/disconnected. :)

Ah. Well darn. Still a good thought.

With 2 awg wire you will have to go under the truck, and up behind the back seat through a firewall grommet.

Grommet link:
Firewall Grommet Bushing 0 4 8 10 Gauge 1/0 AWG Amplifier Install Cable Wire AMP https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F221721710314

Where to drill: stole that from a guys build on another forum. I tried running 1/0 through the door channels it doesn’t work. I am about to drill and run it along the frame and up behind the seat.

Phil is a straightup guy.  Plenty of folks have gotten tow mirrors, harnesses, and other goodies from him and installed by him and have nothing but good things to say.   Kudos for your patience and efforts in making mods function properly.  Plus Phil is often chiming in on posts when fellow members run into issues.  Understand it's hard for Phil to stay on top of things with family, work, and life in general so be patient folks.

I’ve got DIY Kill Switch in the works, a killer audio system upgrade (dreading the 2AWG wire pull), front camera install to compliment the front park assist, door lock knob retrofit, Dual footwell lighting system (using ambient OEM lighting and OEM overhead lighting). Ambient on all the time at night (like the light in the inside front door handle), and the brighter footwell identical to the interior white LEDs :)

I would be interested in more info on the dual footwell lighting system. What lights did you use? I want a soft ambient on at night, and bright footwells that illuminate when you unlock the truck but shut off when the truck is running.

Thanks guys! This forum does take up a lot of my time and I do take pride in what I put there for everyone. Sometimes, I may miss a message, or two, three...

I get flooded with numerous texts, PMs, emails, Youtube comments, FB comments, FB PMs... that I have to rely on system notifications or other members who can point the newbies to the various threads I put out there.

ThanksMarcs for having done your homework, knowing what want to achieve and understating all that there was to achieving your upgrades.

It really helps when some discovery and research is done.

ThanksGTPprix for all you do! Without you, most of what I have done wouldn’t have been possible!

I do appreciate everyone’s support on these mods.

You need door harnesses and a jumper harness for inside the cabin/under the hood

$285 - Door harnesses
$135 - Cabin Harness
