I assume based on your photos that you plasti dipped the bowtie? I just want to make sure you didn't wrap it because man I'm having trouble on the inside corners of the bowtie with wrapping..

Yeah I tried to wrap in some carbon fiber wrap but it was difficult on the edges so Plastic dip was the way to go. If I could take the chrome part off easily then I might wrap but for now, it’s good.

I know the majority here is about tonneau covers and not toolboxes, but I digress. 

 

This better built box had OEM inside and outside leds powered by 8 AA batteries. I installed a led strip on the lid and powered the OEM switch with a Curt breakaway battery. I wired in a 12v SAE lead to recharge the battery. The SAE lead can over hang over the edge of the toolbox and lid can close allowing a battery maintainer to charge the 12v battery...I have 5 of the maintainers that float around to keep equipment charged over winter.

Hauled some lumber today.  I was tempted to do this with the tailgate up but no idea what it’s rated for.  Anybody know?

I'm not sure what the tail gate it rated for when upright, but I know it's not rated for 5 pieces of ply plus 22 pieces of 2"x6"x12' or whatever, lol.

 

Glad to see a truck get used like a truck though,

Iirc, down it's rated for 500 lbs. Not sure about up. I can't recall where I got that number, so take it for what it's worth.

Took the running boards off. Installed an AFE muffler.....it sounds GREAT!

Update all the none LED bulbs to LED (Reverse lights, license plate lights and turn signals) from LasFit. I posted more photos on my thread.

Crossed the 10,000 mile mark yesterday. The lowest mpg I've gotten in a tank was 24.5 and that was mainly in town driving.

 

I've only had the truck since 10/21/2020.
