Well I pulled the trigger on a 2024 silverado crew cab 4x4. Went with the 2.7. Been driving it for 2 days and it actually runs better then my 2015 GMC with the 5.3. Really happy so far with truck.

You are gonna love that stout engine, quality of the truck increases exponentially by NOT having defective 6.2L V8.

My dealer is repairing rebuilding 4 6.2's monthly out here in Southern CO.

Scheduled appointment next Wednesday and while the truck was idling the MIL extinguished.  Maybe this truck is demon possessed? @Grumpy Bear thoughts?  LOL   Maintenance Supervisor things the new pump is bad.

I am consistently getting 26-28 MPG @ 65 mph on HWY 160 here in CO.  I love this stout 4 popper. Heck these things run in 2 cylinders most of the time cruising.

Oil usage update.  I added 11 ounces of RLI BIOSYN 5w30 @ 2000 miles.   MPG noticeably increased changing the oil back to 5w30 vs 10w30.

That’s the biggest problem I had with cylinder deactivation with my truck. It was rarely on. At the time I was able to switch back and forth with a programer. I saw very little benefit for the extra breakable components involved. In contrast my Odyssey at highway speeds is running most of the time in eco mode. It takes a good incline to switch off. Your fuel mileage is about equal to mine. The difference is I usually travel at 72 mph.

Still hard to believe there's not a fix/module/program to keep;  what is turning out to be based on reviews and real world statements a stout, ample engine, out of 2 cylinder mode.  It's got some quirks;  but IMHO, many of those could be solved with locking  out 2 cylinder mode, and revamping the PCV system.

Seems to me the folks that run these engines at "boost" are the ones seeing major oil consumption...........Engine break-in maybe???

I'm very intrigued about this engine................

How much? Since when? Thanks.

I started to notice it back when I started driving this truck around 34k miles. Burns anywhere from 3/4 quart in 5000 miles to 1.5 quarts in 5000 miles. I keep a quart in my truck at all times and check it periodically to keep it topped off. I just finished a 1500 mile road trip from SC to IL and back, and I checked the oil this morning and it was barely registering on the dipstick. It was in the middle of the dipstick before I started the trip. Added 1/2 quart and brought it back up to middle of dipstick.

No leaks anywhere I can see, Its just consuming somewhere.

Fuel mileage is fine tho I averaged 20mpg driving 75-77mph on this trip. Just gotta keep an eye on that oil level.

Do you have a picture of the area you're talking about? I can't seem to understand what spot you are referring to.

But i have no oil leaking form the engine that I can tell. I park in the same spot on my driveway and there are no oil spots.

Show us a pic of the parts and area for sure. I use a qt in 7000 miles if I go that long but there’s no line wetting /moisture or oil film showing in intake, CCV stream, or at intercooler I can see on mine.
