Some of you top tier guys who run nothing but AMSOIL may scoff or laugh at me here, but I will give a thumbs up to the Duralast from Autozone.

Do not know or care who makes them but has been reliable to date.

All I can say is that I am going on 6 years with the Duralast battery in my daily driver 2000 ford Taurus.

I would shy away from anything at Walmart.

Also, I am still on my original factory Delco battery in my 14 Sierra after nearly 6 years for what it is worth.

Optima batteries are popular with the off-road guys.

I wont knock ya at all.  I think Odyssey batteries are the best you can get if you want to spend the money.  With that said I run a Duralast Platinum AGM in my CTSV and it hasn't given me a bit of trouble going on two years now.  Its not a daily driver and will sometimes sit for 2-3 weeks between starts.  Fires up every time.  I had the cheap Duralast in my wifes MDX for maybe a year and last year we had a couple of really cold days/nights and every morning it would be dead.  Autozone took it back under warranty and replaced it with a Duralast Platinum and it hasn't given me a bit of trouble even over this past winter when we got into the teens a few times.  The AC Delco was in my V for 5yrs before I replaced it and it was still good at the time.  I just replaced it to be proactive

what's the cost differential between a interstate and odyssey?

The Odyssey runs around $259. The Interstate is $194. At least where I’m located that’s what they cost

I trickle charged my OEM battery, reinstalled it with tightened cable and a dab of dielectric grease, it seems to be performing appropriately. I have a local source for a NORTHSTAR battery that is their high end line in a 94R for less than $250 out the door, so if my OEM battery has another misstep, I will be replacing it with this one. Time will tell if it’s a wise choice, I will keep you all up on what happens. Thanks for the references and suggestions.
