So I have been a little more proactive in my calling today. I have a question for those that have ordered...

Were you given a base sale price of the truck? (Fake numbers) MSRP is $68,000 we will sell it to you at $62,500 plus whatever rebates are at time of delivery.

Or

Were you told, I can't give you a base price until the truck is built and invoiced to the dealer. Please pay a non-refundable deposit and we will order your truck and confirm pricing once it arrives at the dealership.

Absolutely the first one.

I literally have had two Colorado dealers tell me they will not give me a base price and must pay a non-refundable deposit. AutoNation North Chevy and Ed Bozarth Aurora - My frustration level is bringing me to name and shame. I am okay with the deposit part, but give me some numbers to work with.

I get employee pricing which makes it simple, so yes I have a number minus incentives at delivery.  I would want to have a firm price regardless at the time of the order.  I did give them a $300 deposit on what was originally going to be a dealer trade.

I would NEVER place a deposit without knowing what the price is first!!!!  Only a fool would do that because then they have you over a barrel and you will pay full MSRP less the factory incentives.  The dealer would have no reason to negotiate price at that point.   I made my deal in full and had my price in writing, signed by the sales manager, the salesman and myself with all the final numbers.  It is also in writing that I am guaranteed the incentives that were offered the day we signed OR the incentives offered the day I take delivery, whichever is better.

I am not opposed to traveling to get what I want. I have looked at the inventory nationwide and the only truck with the exact build I want is in Summit White. I am really wanting to stick with the Northsky Blue.. maybe Red Quartz. There is a very close contender in Ohio that I may reach out on. Once the idea set in I can order exactly what I want instead of settling I decided I will fight my way through to get what I want. The added bonus now is you all get to experience the stupidity I am dealing with.

Yeah for me my dealer said they will at least match their “dealer” incentives but factory incentives would be whatever is available at time of delivery. So not quite as good of a deal that@sniperdan negotiated.

I also have nothing signed and $0 down. So that leaves it open to walk away at anytime (hence why I’m also looking for a vehicle on a lot somewhere to cancel my order), but also the dealer can back out too if they decide to not honor what we said.

I didn’t have anything in “writing”, but did have emails.

I would be open to a down payment IF it were small and if it were refundable.

If it’s non refundable, what’s to say they don’t F it up and take 6, 7, 8+ months to get it to you. Then you’re on the hook for waiting.

Yeah that's crazy ordeal....maybe find a dealer who is willing to work for you, even if it's not necessarily near you....maybe some of guys can point you to theirs....if they dont want your business....they are shying away for one reason or another and that's a sign to me you wouldnt want to deal with them anyway....if they are like this now, what its gonna be like thru process?.....probably not good, getting to end for 2020 orders thi so might have to just get another or wait

Finally have a dealer that gave me a price... Laura sent me over my build with price, based on what I have read on this site and elsewhere on the net and based on their current posted dealer discounts, pretty neutral for pricing, it is forward progress.

I did talk to the third Colorado dealer after several call attempts. I honestly don't think they were even trying to earn my business they only offered $3k off MSRP.

its probably tough in areas where there is high demand....and everyone in Colorado needs a 4x4 and lots of 2500/3500 trucks.....here in so cal not so much and lot more dealers so its competitive

just got back from Cerritos chevy and they had like 10 2500 lined up in a row that had been siting for AWHILE (filthy dirty)....all LTZ's and one HC

my brother just bought a 2019 2500 in golden, co and they gave him like 4k off....pretty sad, but he isn't the wheelin and dealin type....told him to go to misouri but he wasn't haven't it, lol

I guess you can say the same for up here in Wyoming. They are almost government issued... but then we don't believe in the government in Wyoming.

Gonna hit up one more dealer, I am a firm believer in the 'ol get three quotes thing. May have to think a bit on if I should wait for the MY2021. More than likely Laura will earn the business and will get things ordered up. We have family friends over in the area so it will be a worth while trip.

I think of it like this

if someone said hey man ill give you 5k, 6k, 8k or 10k to run out to Missouri turn around and drive back would I do it.....you betcha  I would, easy money....and am driving back in a new truck, scratch that...….my new TRUCK!

out here incentives are only 2k.....probably do better but not 8 or 10k, not yet I don't think....least they aren't advertising like that here....

someone said one dealer will even pay for plane ticket....probably depends from where, lol

With all the crazy Sh!t going on, its literally $49 for a United flight from DEN to STL. Then its a nice multi state trip back home... I would take the longer way home to avoid Nebraska. No offense to you Huskers, its just one of the worst states to drive through.

no offense,  never been....yeah I wonder if the virus is effecting car sales too....I would think so, I don't mind a long road trip.....though its pretty flat drive for me unless I take scenic route thru Colorado...

I wouldn't be surprised to see assembly plants shutting down due to the virus if things continue to escalate.

I think it is getting really late to order a 2020.  Flint is running 24/7 right now trying to fulfill the orders it has.
