I just installed during the day and couldn’t see the light now that the sun has set they look great Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Here they are, they measure about 27” across but I have a 3” lift so that will make them a little longer and a little dimmer on the ground. The pictures were taken in my garage, I have garage door win

Pretty sweet, just put mine in. Noticed that the stock lights have K2XX stickers on them. That might mean that 2014-2018 guys could use these logo ones too (if the aim is similar). Not sure if they are being sold that way or not. 
 

No nighttime pics yet, just instructions, invoice and side by side with stock on the left for anyone curious.

Looks good! Does it illuminate the ground and the area around the logo better than the stock lights? Did you get those through ShopChevyParts?

If you google the PN, 84408372...their store is the top hit with a 10% code. Best price I could find when I ordered ‘em last week.

 

All of the light is concentrated to the bowtie, so none of the ground around it really gets lit. I never really relied on the light from the originals but if you do, this mod ain’t for you.

The light output was so poor on my OEM puddle lamps that I didn’t even notice them, when I saw these lights were available I had to go and check to see if I even had puddle lamps as I was unsure if I did. I’m much happier with these lights, GM did well with them.

This looks great!! Are these the oem ones?? I love the blueish tint to the lighting.  What type or what did you do to get them to shine that color?

Well I'll be go to hell.  First I've ever seen them/that and I thought I knew everything ?.  I can't believe I never saw them or read about them despite all the magazines I subscribe to and forums I read.  You learn something new every day!  Thanks guys.

Are there any other options for this mod that just include a brighter light to illuminate more area?  I really don't care for the Bowtie, but like the idea of brighter light covering more space.

I purchased mine from shopchevyparts.com get the discount. They are for Chevy LTZ and High Country options or the top tier GMC truck brand. They are plug and play, pop out the OEM and insert these they are really bright and seeing the bowtie shining on the ground after dark when unlocking truck is sharp. I installed mine only small screw driver required very simple. They install in outside rear view mirrors.

Anyone install the GMC version and notice the passenger side being out of square with the truck?  My drivers side is nice and parallel, my passenger side is EXTREMELY unparallel to the truck.  I double checked installation, made sure the mirror was fully extended, I think I might have to exchange it!  I know the pavement is uneven in the photo but trust me, its bad.

 I have a 2015 Silverado. I have the circle cut out is in the bottom of my mirrors. But I have no existing puddle lights. Can I still buy them and just plug and play? If so, what is the part #?

      Broke Down on the Mountain

      I was in Utah this week attempting a bow hunt in the Wasatch mountains with friends.  On the evening of the first hunt, making my way across a ridge to a friends camp, the upper control arm on the driver's side separated, the CV axle got trashed, and the wheel was dang near at a 45 degree angle to the ground.  I was able to get it towed off the mountain and into town about 3:00 am, and spent the remainder of the night in an O'Reilly's parking lot.  Luckily, there was a Chevrolet dealership not to far away so I was able to get to the dealership and pick up a new CV and UCA.  It would have been a few days before they could have gotten to the truck and I brought tools with me on hunt since it was a two day drive to get there, so I did the repairs myself in the O'Reilly's parking lot.      What's interesting is that the UCA ball joint didn't break, it just popped out of the bottom of the UCA.  There was VERY LITTLE evidence of grease on the ball joint or in the socket, and you could see where the ball joint had warbled out part of the socket over time.  I guess that's what happens over 186K miles of use :)   Big Kudos to O'Reilly's for letting me work on the truck in their parking lot.  However, they made a $150+ off of me from the purchase of various tools, so I guess it was in their best interest anyways :)   Getting towed off the mountain.   UCA Ball Joint Socket   Trashed CV   Suspension disconnected and UCA and CV Removed   New UCA and CV installed with the suspension buttoned up.

      My family still laughs at me when they see me drive up in the minivan. Same with less than a V-8 truck. It helps that I have choices. I don’t think I could only have a minivan as the one and only vehicle as much as I like it. And I wouldn’t pass up a good buy on an older V-8 reg cab GM truck. Could you live Raven as the only ride?

      Oil and filter threads are always a good time.  Especially when the BITOG discussion forums are cited as a definitive, technical source.    Countless single-data-point examples of why something is the best ever, or will destroy your engine... "they changed the shade of blue on the filter can, use at your own risk!"... "I've heard they changed the design to only have 64 pleats, total junk!"... "They're hidin' the NOACK data from us!  I wouldn't use that stuff in a cement kiln!".... "There was a guy who cut open Filter X (with a sawzall) and the anti-drainback valve was orange!  It used to be black!  Chinese junk!"   Good stuff.

      I finally bit the bullet and installed a set of Bilstein 5100's on my 2024 Silverado 2500HD. My truck had about 75,000 miles and I've always felt the factory shocks were less than forgiving. So Bilstein 5100's are the most common go-to replacements. I personally have installed them on many trucks....2002 Silverado 1500, 2014 Silverado 1500, 2017 Chevy Colorado, 2019 GMC Canyon, 2022 Silverado 1500...now my 2024 Silverado 2500. I will eventually put them on my 2021 GMC Yukon as well. Great all around shocks.    Below is my video tutorial installing them on my 2500.       Raven    About 2 more weeks and this Mirage will be two years old and already packing 54K miles. The CVT has settled in and is outperforming my expectations. The engine in quite, smoot for a three pot and very economical to fuel. Life time result to date is a stunning 52.44 mpg with a median tank of 52.74 mpg. Given the number of miles I drive and the cost of fuel lately this buy has turned out to be quite the winner in this stable.       She is also quite the teacher. Nice thing about a car that gets this type of milage is that you see the results of minor changes with the change instead of having to average a months worth of gas tickets to filter out the tank to tank scatter. Those lesson apply to everything in the fleet and everything I've done to the pack works with this one as well.   EPA numbers for this car:     This example is running 42% over the government values!!!!  😱    I am really enjoying this car. Can't even hear the laughing of those that thought this a 'dumb/disappointing buy".
