Posting my a friend  that just bought a 2020 Silverado 1500 custom.  Can a power inverter be added to the bed and cab?  The truck did not come with it.

Just know the stock inverter has it's limitations.  First, it only runs when the engine is running.  Next, the amount of power you get is pretty limited (I believe about 3Amps).  And if it's like the last model, the invertor is not a pure sin-wave one.  That could be a problem if you are looking to power sensitive equipment.

From my research, the inverter is actually mounted behind the back seat, so it would be a bit of work to install the factory one.  I suspect you could do better with something else.

I have one in my AT4, but I'm essentially replace it with something better.

...and if you want more power (ie, a regular outlet that can power regular tools/appliances that take 15A, you need a completely different setup, as you need 150A+ (10X the A/C current+a bit more for inefficiency) DC current to provide that, so you'll need some pretty thick cables to the inverter, as probably even a better alternator and a fast idle setup (as alternators generally don't put out full power at idle).
