Ghost Sierra Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 Has anyone painted their calipers? I was thinking they would look red like the tow hooks.
nobaddays Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 I painted mine black. I did it right away after I bought the truck, and used brake caliper paint so it would take the heat. 5k miles and still looks good!

redwngr Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 Fake Brembo's... Real ones are an option.. 5JL LPO, Front Brake Kit-Performance, includes Red Brembo 6-piston front brake calipers with larger than stock pads and rotors (GMC logo on front calipers and rear calipers are color matched Red), (dealer-installed) 1 - Requires 20" or 22" wheels.
Davidj98 Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 Looks great!! A lot cheaper than overpriced Brembo kit! Did you use the G2 paint kit?
Dunn Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 sure the brembo kit is nice but does seem bit overpriced......wonder if you can just go to brembo
sharkeysierra Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 Maybe it’s the ricer in me, but I wouldn’t define these as fake brembos.. there was a time when 4 pistons were all you needed. Im thinking of painting mine blue, but I’m in no rush. You can never go wrong with red to be noticed. Black for those on the low..

Actually I left them on and painted them in place. Just a lot of very careful taping. lol Used the following kit. https://www.tirerack.com/brakes/brakes.jsp?make=G2&model=Caliper PaintSystem Set&partnum=G2160&ID=41 1

Chevrolet1 Posted July 24, 2021 Posted July 24, 2021 (edited) Painted mine red too (all four). Really like the look. Edited July 24, 2021 by Chevrolet1
Shef R Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 I did my Chevy Silverado when truck was new. They looked great! But I noticed whole sections of the caliper paint flaking off after 8-10 months. Hit them with a power washer and all the paint fell off. Pinged G2 help, sent some pix along with the vehicle info. I received the reply this morn: "The calipers are coated most likely with zinc which prevents paint bonding. The coating needs to be sanded off." Did my '2013 vette and no issues Just a headzup
johnnyquick Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 I used red caliper covers, https://www.amazon.com/MGP-Calipers-Chevrolet-Caliper-14252Sbowrd/dp/B07MY75M8R/ref=asc_df_B07MY75M8R?tag=bngsmtphsnus-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=80745505366414&hvnetw=s&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4584345031922620&psc=1 Pricey but 4 years on em with no issues.
