I have a 23 High Country 6.2 with 48.000 miles and with all the failed lifter talk and now the big recall, I think I'm ready to walk and get a 6.6 gas.

Diesel is not for me. Used to be a long time ago though. 

Probably looking at an LTZ with the LTZ premium package. Not much difference between that and a HC.

 

I do tow a cargo trailer and a 25 ft travel trailer so the 2500 would be beneficial but I also plan to daily it.

Mpg isn't a big deal to me either.

 Talk me into doing this. Or talk me out of it.

Shitty gas mileage, oil consumption is “questionable but…. it is a nice all around powerplant. I’m enjoying mine a lot. Trans wise, the jury is still out but the motor is very nice. It’s the nicest truck I’ve ever owned. I hope it stays that way.

Ride quality unloaded will suffer for your daily duties. L8T trucks have massive payloads and consequently very stiff springs. Gas mileage sucks as mentioned but if you were putting 91 in the 6.2 like recommended, you wont notice the cost difference since you'll be going to 87.

 

I am also not sure about the 10 speed, but the rest of the truck is built to go 250k+ miles. Longer, wider bed. Harder to park. Fits 35s stock. Some do 37s with cranked keys. 

 

Throttle lag makes it feel like a tired dog. Throttle relaxer module (dunno whats out there for 24+) makes it feel like it should stock and gives all the quickness something over 7,000#s needs.

 

Self service and modding is easy because everything is bigger, taller, more room...etc. Bigger tools needed though.

 

Lifted 1500s on 35s feel pretty good about themselves until I hit the parking lot on a ZR2 baby lift and 37s with the "2500 HD" badge reminding them of who dominates the truck game. Trail Boss looks like a Trail Intern next to an HD on 37s. Chevy HDs are close to the ugliest things on the road with their baby tires sucked under the massive body and low height hugging the road. A small lift and 37s instantly changes the look of the whole vehicle and makes it one of the baddest looking things on wheels. Weird but true.

 

If you ever wanted more power and REALLY don't care about MPG, the L8T 6.6 is a cheat code. Power gains are easy and intense with practically any mod. Even canned Diablosport tunes on 91 have it pushing over 500tq off the crank.

 

If you can stand a rougher ride, it really is the biggest, toughest, most durable Chevrolet pickup truck ever built. I look forward to it being the last one I ever need to buy.

An HD is kind of big for a daily driver if you have to park in parking lots or drive in the city, but it’s the right truck for towing a 25 foot travel trailer or cargo trailer above 6000 lbs. Personally I’d be concerned about buying a new truck with the 10 speed transmission issues unless GM told me they had actually changed the design (versus the software band-aid that means you can’t trust the truck to get you through a long trip without going into a limp mode).

I have this on my 24 L8T. I use the phone app to adjust it (currently on Race level 1, that seems to be the closest 1 to 1 feeling). The computer still holds it back some but, its better than the anemic factory throttle programing.

 

I believe no one currently tunes for the 24-25s yet. Wish they'd hurry up.

 

Transmission will be a bit funny for the first couple thousand miles as it learns. Mine certainly was. I still get the occasional odd ball shift, seems inherent to these things having so many gears to work with.

I daily mine. Yea, in town/city can be an issue. These things are huge and turning radius is... meh.

My 2024 AT4HD is my daily driver. Bought 1/18/24 and turned 17k miles today. So far so good. 

 

I can tow my boat and utility trailer with a 1/2 ton truck but I like this truck. Considering replacing my utility trailer with a 10k rated dump trailer.

I was a 2021 tb 6.2 owner till about 3 weeks ago, had the best nights sleep the day I put the 6.6 gasser 2500 in my driveway

I enjoy mine with the old tried and true 6spd. The 6.2 in the 1500 is much much quicker but the HD is better in every other way.

I get it.

I used to dominate the 1/2 ton guys in my area with my 2018 on 10.5 lift with 38x13.50 mud grapplers. Had it almost 3 years and hated to get rid of it but cops wouldn't leave me alone. BTW I daily drove this.

Totally worth it! I have a 2024 LTZ that has every option that the High Country has with the exception of the stiching on the seats and power step bars. It is a crew cab with an 8ft long bed, and IS a pain to park in most parking lots, however, the surround cameras make it a LOT easier AND I can go to Lowe's or Home Depot, put a load of 8ft lumber in and still shut the tailgate. It is hands down an amazing vehicle. It is a bit rough riding unloaded and I currently daily drive mine and get about 14mpg in town, best of 22mpg when I take the interstate.

22mpg would be great. I got ( once ) a solid 18 for one tank on regular, non ethanol 87, thats up north in flat MN 55-60mph roads. I know my dash is close enough to hand calculated, so its basically both, dash/hand calculated. 

 

Normal 55-60 travels are 14 worst winter fuel, to 16 average summer, thats tank to tank. Interstate, it will do 12-maybe 15 winter fuel to summer fuel 75-80mph highways. Again, tank to tank, dash/hand calculated.

I think it’s them Florida roads. I had a Hyundai rental car there last year and suburban driving got 65mpg with a gas non-hybrid car. Blew my mind. Those Roads are perfectly flat and at basically sea level so I think that helps mpg a lot. I sure ain’t getting 22 over here in PA with all these hills 😂

I totally agree with this. My son and I both had extended cab half tons with short beds. We both decided we wanted the 8 ft beds. He bought a crew cab. I bought a regular cab. I decided that since I was buying it mainly for pulling and hauling and am retired and seldom have more than 2 passengers, the standard cab would do. His is an absolute nightmare in a parking lot. I love mine.

Don't worry, this article will share 5 invaluable tips to help you master the race and impress your friends. Golden Rules 1. Look one step further. The mistake of 90% of new players is only staring at their character. The secret of experts is to look towards the top of the screen (where the slide is about to appear). This gives your brain an extra 0.5 - 1 second to process the situation and determine the direction of movement before the obstacle approaches. 2. Use gentle movements; don't swipe too hard. Slide Down is very sensitive. Moving your finger too forcefully or with excessive amplitude will cause your character to be thrown off course or crash into a wall.     • I went another direction after losing a trailer tire, thanks to not being able to access air at ANY of the 5 gas stations and garages I stopped at prior, with a Toyota Tacoma onboard, 50 miles from the Canadian border.
