  1. I think he should buy a 20" chrome wheel and hang that under his truck. Then, next spring he can complain about how pitted it is.

  2. No, its not BS Bill. They are all like this. The spare is a full size spare tire, and it is NORMAL for the spare to be the wrong size wheel. The spare tire is a P265/70R17, which is 31.7" in diameter. The P275/55R20 that is on your truck is the same diameter, 31.7-31.9". Your differential won't "eat itself up", I promise. Unless you REALLY have to have a matching spare, there is NO NEED to run out and buy a match.

  3. That's not really a good comparison. People choosing to be unhealthy is their choice, people dont choose to have a brand new vehicle that doesnt function properly. As it is, the lemon laws are too restrictive. Just because a vehicle has a multitude of different problems doesnt mean they are less valid than a single recurring problem. If the laws favored the consumer more it would benefit the consumers as a whole because then the manufacturers would have to improve the quality of their vehicles to avoid losing so much money on defective ones. As it is currently, they have no incentive to improve their quality/quality control because it is so difficult and time consuming for a consumer to go through and win the lemon law process that it costs them a hell of a lot less to have crappy quality and payout the small number of people that successfully get a buyback. As an aside, I have actually gone through this process with an attorney and even meeting all the criteria for lemon law in my state, it was still a nightmare going through the process and left me without a functioning vehicle for several months while it was happening. 4. Now that the US covid is trending down the screamers are picking on the kids. Make them stay home, they say. Do you know most school buses don’t have seat belts? Maybe you could start on that. In other news. The local Texas news is reporting a change to the covid death calculation. Instead of with to from. Interesting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. “No kid left behind.” That’s the saying now. It’s terrible. Now they’re lowering standards for wannabe lawyers in Cali. For what? We know for what. So what does that mean? They are intellectually inferior? Need a hand out. Guess they’ll always be expecting it then. Then one day they’ll start throwing Molotov cocktails at cop cars because wahhhh Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  7. umm..when I went school the kids who went everyday and tried but just no matter how hard they tried couldn't keep up, they flunked! The kids that never showed up missed days whenever, sick all the time etc. guess what? They flunked too! Enter 21st Century Schooling: Grumps....You can do absolutely nothing as a kid and the Teacher can put into that kids education 100% ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TOO! Guess what? That kid passes on to the next grade. The system is fundamentally LIBERALIZED/BASTARDIZED whatever you want to call it...any GAP is ABSOLUTELY a problem especially in today's crap schools systems!

  12. I’ve had the truck one week today. Base model duramax crew cab 4wd SB. So far I’ve done: Debadge, other than GMC on rear (replaced with vinyl) and front of course Chrome delete (Vinyl Wrap) Tint: 15% on sides & rear, 45% on windshield). Smoked mirror lights, side markers, and third brake light Wheels and level go on next week - 20” fuel rebels wrapped in nittos. Handles and side / bumper steps color-matched within 2 weeks. More pics to come soon.

  13. My truck arrived at the dealership today. Now waiting for them to get their BS done. That includes the first mod of installing the dash camera system. I also added 1 large box to the stash in my garage. It took up the entire space behind the front row of my wife's Traverse. I'm ready to get started on this project. 14. I ran to the dealership to get the last accessory that I ordered -- sport bar. While loading the box into my (wife's) Traverse I noticed this truck 2 rows away. Once I was loaded up, I walked over and looked at it. It's mine! I got to see and touch it, but haven't been inside it, nor driven it yet. In fact, I haven't driven any Silverado in over 15 to 20 years. I feel like this is a huge gamble. I hope I like it. Seeing the truck did remove any concerns about the towing mirrors. I love them. 15. Nice! Before my Trail Boss, had a '06 Toyota Avalon to get to work and back, and run around town. Sold it for down payment towards the TB. Rain-X always works for me as well when I had the Avalon. I added Rain X wiper blades to both Avalon and my wife's '16 Yukon. It makes a difference for sure! Bet your LaCrosse likes to whine once you put your foot down.

  17. Its actually not very loud lol. The cold starts are always loud. I liked it better with resonators covered so I dropped it off at the exhaust shop this morning, to do a proper delete of all the resonator screens. I only drove it a bit when I picked it up at Lunch but im happy with it now. Puts a smile on your face . Its mean sounding.

  19. Thought i had photos with a load but mine squats pretty easily. Eventually would like to solve this because i do tow or haul a decent amount. But also really like the level look when empty. But even in this photo an empty trailer even though it is a fairly heavy trailer it brings the back down quite a bit. Sorry not the best photo

  22. I just purchased this truck. I am curious as to why there is a small wire harness with a connector at one end in my glove box? The truck does not have trailer brake controller so maybe a jumper harness for an aftermarket one? Thanks

  23. The AT4/TB should have no better CV angles than a non AT4/TB. The GM AT4/TB kit is a glorified leveling kit at the end of the day they're putting on these trucks so adding additional lift is fairly significant without doing a diff drop and correcting geometry. I would plan on something with new uppers no matter what you choose. The factory "lift" does not include new UCA's so i would assume these are shared across the platform. Here is a 2.5" on a non AT4/TB truck that had a failure recently. It was a crack instead of a ball joint so could be unrelated, but too many UCA issues to not replace when adding any additional height IMO. https://www.facebook.com/groups/AllNewSilveradoSierra/search/?query=upper control arm&epa=SEARCH_BOX

  26. I purchased my set off of ebay for my 2018 and they arrived in less then 5 days. Total time on my install was probably 15 hours. I learned a lot along the way on what does and doesn't work. The center console went really well for me. Getting the fronts to push into the snaps was probably my most challenging part. Putting on the front head rests was really hard until I put the posts into the seats to help hold them. Most of the way through I was thinking I should have just traded the truck in but now it's done I'm happy. There weren't any local installers here otherwise I would have just let the pros do it. Here are some pics the day I finished. Overall less wrinkles then I would have thought but hopefully the tighten up some more. I'll post some follow up pics after a few weeks.

  27. Funny how Mayo is now down to 70% I will let ya keep babbling as boasting my "Creds" is something I never have done.....40% is where Herd immunity starts effectively slowing the spread of Covid-19. Which is all you really need to know. No, we are not at "Herd" immunity my last figures have USA population at 15% that is the "Average" don't get all goofy now Grumps. We are now looking at 25-35% of NYC average currently/previously infected.....Almost there in that local and you can already see the "TREND" big boy even if you "doff" the masks the aka: 2nd wave resurgence is most likely just not going to happen....I know it's a bummer to the LEFT but it's just how it is. Then we have to listen to CUMMO talk smart in couple months with the "Look what I did" lol.....sure it ran it's course Cummo good job!

  28. I've got simlilar message. Service brake booster. Read up on it and it could be many things including: - replace brake booster or vacuum pump (wasn't for a silverado though) - poor contact of the sensor due to rust/corrosion I can't remember the last one, but best to take it to a mechanic because it seems pretty random

  33. Friday wash day. Ain't got much shade midday here that's why I usually do it in the evening. CovetedStyle should be washing his later stay tuned Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk BTW If you are looking for a good "waterless" wash, I found it for you. Mother's Speed waterless wash & wax. I've tried several and wasn't impressed, this stuff did. Last weekend I was up north for the 4 day weekend and the nearest car wash was about 20 miles away. It never rained so my truck didn't get dirty but it was so humid every morning the truck was soaking wet. It was 90 and very humid every day we were there. I travel with all my detailing stuff in two homer pails. 15-20 microfiber towels, a few ounces of this, about 30 minutes and it was spotless. No streaks or smears. I did this 3 days in a row every morning. Probably have 3 left in this bottle. I recommend it. Five stars.

  35. Spize the two motors are very different. Ford’s 2.7 doesn’t compare at all and wasn’t designed to compete with it. Dual turbos, two extra cylinders and a 10 speed make it the upgraded engine choice. The Chevy 2.7 competes with the 3.3 from Ford and the 3.6 V6 from Ram. I’m wallet loyal not brand loyal. We will see. ?

  39. I bought my 2019 new back in October. I now have 16K miles on it. Didn’t know if I had made a mistake by not going with the 5.3. After the time I have spent with it, I have towed a 3400 lb car on a uhaul auto transport. Needless to say, the 2.7 was more than capable. I averaged 13-14 on a 3 hour trip driving 60-70 mph on tow/haul mode on the interstate. I can get 22 mpg @ 70-80 mph when driving without a payload. If I keep it at 60-65, I can push 24. City driving I can get 20-21 depending on traffic. Uber puts my truck though a mixture of hwy/cty/idling; when I Uber, I’ll get 17-19 due to longer idling periods. All in all, I don’t have any regrets. It meets my needs and I don’t have to pay the premiums for the V8 or a baby Duramax.

  40. Plenty of owners have been happy with their 2.7 and its a great little engine, especially for city driving. From what little I have gathered from other peoples posts, long distance hwy driving mpg hasn't been as good as expected, but still decent. City driving is where is usually shines over the other available engine options. I don't know what real world ratings are for the 2.7 engine. If you are ever going to put any weight in the bed of your truck, or if you expect prolonged trips with a large family, the 2.7 might be under-powered for for your needs and deliver a less than expected MPG. Otherwise, get the 2.7 and enjoy, it's a great/stout small liter motor that's capable of good results.

  41. lol thanks grandpa1. Can I ask what you paid for the truck (Approx is ok) I’m assuming diesel service is more... lol I saw people complaining about 0w20 oil for the Duramax lol my tundra did 10k intervals no problem with it. I get diesel is different as the fuel also lubricates and diesel oil is filthy even after 1000’miles. I changed the oil at 9500 miles and it was always fine. I will assume the 2.7 is 7500? T y again

  42. Have you guys noticed that anytime we 2.7T owners start talking about our truck some dude pops up telling us we should have got a diesel? What's up with that? If I had wanted a diesel I would have got one. I've had plenty of them and now I'm happy with my baby 4 banger. Especially when I have to do service. A whole lot cheaper!

  43. While playing in the vehicle customization settings I found one to automatically tilt the side mirrors down when you put the truck in reverse (SLT Sierra). I didn't see this feature anywhere on the options list when I bought it. I'm not sure why it's not turned on my default but it's great!!

  44. not sure how many of you know this but if your gmc sierra is equipped with a block heater the location to plug in is hidden.. its found under a black plastic cover right beside the drivers side fog light. just pry it off in the winter and replace it in the summer. I believe for silverados its just located next to the tow hooks in plain sight.

  45. While installing some warning lighting, I found that there is an access to run wiring from the engine compartment to the cab on the passenger side of the firewall rather than just on the drivers side. The port is big enough to pull some good size cable. I'm really liking this new truck!
