Nothing too crazy, just installed boost auto dual function (cargo and reverse) wiring harness. This way the LED lights on my tow mirrors will turn on when the truck unlocks at night and automatically when I put it in reverse. This still gives me the ability to turn them on with my cargo lights as well. Nothing major just a nice feature.4 points

Finally finished the rear wall platform and latest audio install in my 2016 Regular Cab today. Everything including the sub enclosure is built from Baltic Birch plywood and I’ll post full construction pics on my build log when I get a chance. I added a bolt to the cover I made for the seatbelt mechanism so I could mount the jack tools using the original mounting hardware since I used the original stud as a mounting point for the platform. I also added a mesh storage pocket and will install a couple more smaller ones in the open areas for my flashlight etc next to/under the amp (tired of hearing stuff roll around in my jump seat)3 points

I'm dealing with my Sr. Citizen girl, Daisy- 10 year old going on 11, Lab/Golden mix. She's a gentle giant who loves everyone and other dogs, but her vision is getting bad, and she's loosing a lot of of her hair which has the vet concerned. She's already being treated for thyroid issues, so we are trying to adjust the levels after a recent check showed them too high. I hope she stays healthy enough to be with me a few more years. She's been a wonderful friend these past 10 years which have been hard on me. Mollie on the other hand has made it thru a cancerous tumor and is doing well and very high energy at 6 years old. A faithful "daddy's girl" who gets jealous of other people and dogs around me but always softens up. <sigh> I plan to have a German Shepherd someday. I love Labs, Goldens, Beagles, Australian Shepherds, and Border Collies, but I've always wanted a German Shepherd ever since having helped train several Police K-9s back in the day. Here is my 10 year old Daisy. Mollie as a Pup. She's part Lab and part Cocker Spaniel.2 points

Amen. Not all of us want to be stereotyped as the typical truck douche. The 2.7 is more fun to drive than the 5.3 IMO.2 points

My fix was to black box the ECM (If I literally ever need to get to it, I'll grind the welds off) and get an aftermarket alarm.2 points

Personally I like the front windows a little less dark. As a retired LEO,I'll tell you I did cite vehicles with very dark windows. The dark windows gives LEO's a reason to stop and detain you. It sets up a situation for further investigation for warrant checks etc. It was my job to arrest and book people! It just isn't worth it to do a black out of front windows. Don't draw unwanted attention to you.2 points

So the wife has decided 'we' need to do something about this COIVID-15 (plus) we've each put on. Doc suggested some form of the mini fast method which in all reality is calorie restriction. Started around the first of the month and so far I've lost 12 pounds. I can't do a true fast as some of my medications require food but on those days I eat something like an apple and a few nuts just before pill time and it seems to work okay. This thing started with a three day fast. Just water. Then we eat for 3 and fast 1. Me being me, I've been keeping charts. I'll warn you up front about dieting with your spouse. Men just loose weight faster than women and they get testy about it. This has got me back in the kitchen. Not sure that's a good thing. ?2 points

I feel your pain. My Trail Boss has been at the dealer now for 2 weeks because of this issue. The truck has 2400 miles on it and I took delivery of the thing the first week of september. From what I’ve heard is the solid rear windows don’t have the issue of leaking.1 point

Thats exactly what it was too, when I unhooked the alternator ground from the battery it didn't come on anymore. I'm going to try that thanks alot!1 point

Yep, having now test drove a 2020 with a 5.3, a 6.2, a 2.7, and the 3.0, the 2.7 is the fun to drive. If I were to buy another Denali, I’d get a 6.2. But GMC just isn’t doing it for me value wise. I think if it’s another splurge pickup I’d do a Ford or RAM first. I wouldn’t get another 5.3. Didn’t see the 2020 as much better than my2017 5.3, it’s a high strung V8 that makes a lot of noise before it makes power. Since we’re thinking of getting an SQ5 for the family hauler to replace the 2019 Terrain Denali in another year or two, and I like the cut of the GMC models, I’ll probably get a mid range 2.7 model to enjoy that low end torque that I’ve come to expect due to my other turbo vehicles and my brother’s Model 3 Performance that I frequent. 3.0 is a little tempting just for the novelty of it. I am looking to see if the Colorado gets the 2.7 as rumored.1 point

This is incorrect. The 2" Trailboss lift kit comes with the EXACT same jack as comes in the truck, down to the same part number. I fully extended the stock jack and the one that came in the lift kit to compare....they both extended the same amount. As others have posted, you don't need a taller jack for the TB/AT4....the axle is still the same distance from the ground. The lift blocks are placed between the leaf springs and the axle. Truck.goes up....axle doesn't move.1 point

Can’t really see being bothered by modern turbo truck exhaust sounds when all modern high revving V8 trucks sound like they skipped leg day at the gym. You know the ones, 6” lift on bro dozer tires and they goose it, make a ****** ton of noise and go nowhere as it has to kick down 4 gears first. Had one try to close a merge gap on me this weekend, and while he’s making all a racket and his 5.3L is screaming, the 2.0T Terrain easily gapped him and you hardly heard it do it. I was at 100% torque before he even dropped down enough gears. If your truck isn’t pushing a minimum of 5 second 0-60, it’s embarrassing to make all that noise and get passed by a stock turbo vehicle.1 point

They stripped an entire Tuscany Silverado (like Rocky Ridge) down to just the cab? And left it in the road? And nobody noticed it? It seems more that they are getting in via the ECM and are somehow cloning or have a modified ECM that can trick the truck. OnStar modules don't seem to have the backup battery anymore so pulling the fuse seems to disable it. If they still had a backup battery, the OnStar module would be active in the event of battery 12v loss. So as much as no backup battery for OnStar is flawed, the bigger flaw is the ability to make a truck run with a pre-edited ECU. Seems like someone is VIN writing them ahead of time.1 point

I've put about 2400 miles of towing my 5k travel trailer all around Texas this year. I just set the cruise at 65 and let that sweet 10 speed and turbo do the work. Love my Dmax Jr1 point

I think it looks great. Coming from a guy who used to tint windows. I love mine dark but like others have said, police probably won’t bother you when they can see an outline of you. When you start to go real dark. They harass you. I had 5% all around my last suv and 20% windshield and I got pulled over 3 times in less than 2 months. Not worth it also you want darker on back for kids because factory don’t is just a dye, u don’t get any heat rejection from it. Here is my truck. I also have a 5% strip on front. I don’t do windshields anymore. To much of a hassle. truck looks sharp1 point

That's like asking, How long should a roll of toilet paper last....... it depends on how you use it.1 point

Put these in over 2 years ago, still working great. First thing you notice though, they are bright and kind of overpower the factory camera (hope that makes sense), so keep your foot on the brake while backing up, between the 2 light sources, it makes a big improvement over the factory bulbs.1 point

Picked my truck up on Friday after the dealership replaced upper intermediate shaft. It seems to have fixed the problem. Time will tell if it comes back in a few months or a few thousand miles. Will update if the problem comes back again.1 point

Couldn’t agree with you any more. 8 straight years of same engine output is way too long.1 point

Mine runs above 210 and way below depending on something. The truck get 32mpg when there is no wind and ideal circumstances. Put a trailer on it and mileage goes to 20; even the smallest trailer. I can see how the 3.73 gears could change mileage. Great engine but it is a tiny 3.0. I guess we'll see how it holds up, I'm at 32K and going strong.1 point

They really do need a boost with this engine. I have it and like it a lot, but Ford and RAM are both north of 400hp now with their 5.X liter engines. With Ford getting some wild #s out of their Powerboost engines, it’s no longer good enough for GM to rely on the 6.2L as an upsell for someone who wants a 400hp V8. It wasn’t long ago when hitting 400hp in a light duty truck V8 was a pretty big deal. War is war and GM is falling behind with their power outputs.1 point

It’s mainly the small details they screwed up, but it all adds up. The little vent pieces in front of the dash speaker grills fit terrible and stick up. The console plastic has uneven gaps and sharp edges. The lower half of the door panels are very cheap looking with basic plastic speaker grills. They couldn’t even bother to put bright metal trim around them like the K2 had. Also, the amount of blank switches in the lower trims is outrageous. And even with every single option, every truck has a giant blank at eye level in the center of the infotainment buttons...where they clearly had intended an eject button for a disc drive. A disc drive that was deleted anyway. I love my truck and like the interior just fine, but I can see why it gets some hate.1 point

I would love a 12 foot screen .... or even the 8 foot - but not sure there is enough room inside the cabin for that1 point

Ok so to update my story. I ended up buying the GM factory performance exhaust. (Same thing as the Borla touring but Borla will not sell you a side exit touring. I have no idea why this is their policy). It sounds amazing. I will need to figure out how to upload the before and after videos here but with the headers and catless, the Borla tames the sound down when you aren't getting into the power. Highway driving is almost at stock level noises. Around town you hear the rumbling, no drone at any speed or gear. If you are going to go headers and catless but still need to pull into an office parking lot, I would recommend this setup. The truck was tuned with these modifications as well so it's really come alive.1 point

For those that have the 2020 silverado with the key fob feature that rolls all four windows down at once heres something I just tried: Press the the unlock button on the fob. Then press and hold the unlock button until all four windows start rolling down. I've heard a LOT of complaints about this feature that why would you want them all down. Well maybe it's hot and you just want them cracked open a bit or half way down.... When the windows have reached the level you want them down, press the unlock button again to STOP them all from rolling down at the level you've reached. Hope this helps someone!! I used a horrible smelling cleaner on my mats and I wanted them down a bit to air the truck out. Turtle wax spray cleaner smells awful!!!1 point

I guess you're not familiar with the size of rear facing car seats these days lol. It barely even fits with the front seat all the way up. With what I'm being offered on my trade in and the deals they're giving on trucks my payment will be the same and I will just have to pay on it a couple more years so it's a win win.. If my truck was paid off, I might be more inclined to wait but, I'm being offered like 3-4 grand more than I was 3 months ago..1 point

Let me see if I can simplify this a bit for you guys. First of all, The picture in the link with the quad tips is not the correct picture but I will get to that later. The GMPE system IS the Borla Touring System. It is built at Borla and DEALER installed. If you order the package when you order the truck it is still a dealer installed item. The GM "branded" version is only available with the bent tailpipes for the factory bumper tips. The Borla "aftermarket" systems are available with the bend for the factory tips or straight tailpipes that will accommodate different tips. Borla offers three choices of their tips. A Borla Touring system with quad tips will be EXACTLY the same as the GMPE system except it wont have the tiny bend at the end of the tailpipe so you can slide tips on it. All of the other piping, joints, muffler and pipe size are identical. Again, speaking about 2019+ 6.2L Borla Touring and GMPE systems. The Sport and ATAK systems are also exactly the same except for muffler/resonator and are available in the same configurations. -Eli1 point

Pretty sure the GMPE and the Borla Touring are exactly the same. Regardless I love my GMPE. Growls to life on a cold start but isn't going to wake the neighbors. My daughter tells me she likes it when she hears me start the truck from inside the house and knows when I'm leaving for work in the mornings. It turns heads when starting it via remote start in a parking lot but doesn't look silly when a middle aged dad like me climbs behind the wheel. Let's me know it is there when I step on the gas but didn't bother me on a 7 hour drive down the interstate. I also love the look of the quad tips.1 point

Not exactly. The OP would be more like saying “my wife has PMS, what’s wrong with her?” To which these replies would be “that’s how she’s designed, if you want something different there are options...” And all of those “flaws” were present when you cut the check. The point is it’s a competitive market. GM throws everything into a truck, they price themselves out. They went with a $2k tailgate, others have tailgate sensors and power pedals. They’re balancing the preferences of hundreds of thousands of consumers and you’re in the minority. The average consumer isn’t paying for that stuff (in GMs opinion) Me for example: tailgate? Turn around and look. Wipers? See rain, turn on. Pedal? Move seat. That’s my personal set of preferences and solutions, not saying it should be everyone’s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

So I bought my 19 with the 2.7T LT 2WD this last October. I now have 17k miles. I average 19-20 mpg with my daily driving and Uber. I have taken road trips with just passenger payload and luggage and can get 22-24 depending on where I keep my speed. Not long ago, I hauled an 03 CTS on a Uhaul auto transport on the interstate. I still averaged 13-14 mpg going 60-70 mph. Plenty of torque to get the trailer moving and keep it going on the highway. Plenty of power to pass on the highway as well. I thought I had made a mistake going with the turno4, but now that I have put 17k miles on it, I couldn’t be happier. Sometimes I wish I did get the V8, but I remember the reasoning for buying the turbo4. Coming off a 2003 Ram 1500 4.7, this Silverado already outdoes my old truck. So it meets my needs. I don’t haul all the time nor do I off-road.1 point

did you try a different cable? maybe your cable is faulty. you didn't mention what type of phone you have, what plug does it have? if type-c or lightning, try flipping the plug, sometimes it'll kick it to a faster charge cycle.1 point

Anyone with second row overhead DVD issues in 2015+ GM suvs where the backlight works but no video, or you are unable to open the screen all the way without losing picture, the solution is easy. Remove, disassemble, and flip the 40 pin ribbon cable, reassemble, reinstall, and call it a day. My 2015 Yukon XL Denali has just 50k on the ticker, and had this issue. GM is not standing behind the junk of a vehicle this has been within the two years of ownership, and I am not paying $700 to replace the second row DVD player. I hope this helps someone with the same ridiculous problem. All you need is a Phillips screwdriver, a small flat-head, a ratchet/driver, and a 7mm socket. This literally takes less than 30 minutes total to do.1 point
-
Same issue here. I figured it was the ribbon based on what others were saying. Dealer wanted 800 to replace. I took the unit down 4 screws and unplug 2 harnesses. Pulled the cover off and reversed the direction of the video ribbon. Issue fixed and it maybe took a total of 30 minutes. I did order a new ribbon on Ebay as a backup which cost about $20.00 it’s just a standard flat 40pin ribbon. Hopefully this helps.1 point
