Need help dropping 4L60E tranny out of '99 Silverado

I have a 99 Silverado and am using it as a parts truck, because the frame is rusted through in many places. I am in the process of dropping the transmission, but cannot figure out how to get to the top bellhousing bolts. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated, I am trying to get it out by Friday night so I can install it in my daily driver.

If there is anyone who has a forum that shows the complete removal and installation processes, that would help a ton, because these Haynes books do not go into that much detail and leave you hanging sometimes, and this is one of those times.

You can remove the crossmember, then let the tailshaft tilt down. You should be able to get to bolts up top then

two different approaches:

as said above, take off the transmission crossmember and tilt the powertrain back/ down for access.

1. With enough LOOOOONNNNNNGGG extensions you can actually do this from under the truck with a ratchet.

2. I usually just climb in the engine bay and use a 13mm gear wrench - the job would be a nightmare without that gear wrench.

I removed 6 studs, but a couple that I still have left to go have a nut to hold some brackets on. I tryed a 1/2", 9/16", 13mm, and 14 mm and none of them fit onto the nut, or are too big. How should I approach this issue?

I think it's a 10mm, if not it's 11mm, once again, gear ratchet - here's a hint, EVERYTHING on that truck is metric except for once you are in the rear differential ;)
