I am in need of a budget lift, and of course first thing that pops up is 5" Rough Country everywhere i look lol. My truck hardly sees off road and if it does, its a gravel road into my hunting camp. Nothing extreme at all. I am just going to looks here.

I have been reading and searching for 2 weeks on here and other forums, and for the most part people dont have much bad stuff to say about the kit.

The only thing i am looking for from "you" guys is if there is anything comparible in price, like maybe a few hundred dollars difference for a far superior kit u know. I will have to mention i am from Canada so shipping will be my worst enemy. I can get the RCX 5" right now for $1005 shipped to my door from a very good company on ebay. They selling me my kit for $885 and $120 for shipping. Does anything out there compare?

One more thing, i have 2" RC level now and i fit 285/70/17 Hankook Dynapro A/T no problem on Incubus Krawlers 17" X 9" i am not sure of the back spacing but would it be possible to keep these wheels and tires with the 5" lift kit? or are 17's too tight? they are basically a 33" tire i think.

It's a decent kit, but I would keep my leveling kit and add a 3" body lift. One can be had for approximately $400.

With the body lift , how much work involved in hiding the frame?

And for eBay, are u located in Canada ? Or was that $ for the US

All that is really needed to hide the frame is gap guards or fender liners. The amount of frames that these trucks show is about as much as the stock HD model.

So it would be a personal choice to cover the frame up is what your saying blackout ? How expensive are a set of gap guards ? Just trying to weigh the cost of each method .

Also anyone else can chime in here, and also nobody has chimed in about the rims I have and if they will work with the RC kit. That would be a huge deal breaker for me if they don't .

Need to know BS on wheels, but they should fit just fine. You will want to cover the gap in between the frame and the body. As far as frame hanging down underneath the doors, it's a personal choice if you want steps to cover what's showing.

Gapguards are $70 to $100. The ones up front work well and look good. The rear ones looks kinda crappy. I just got around to ordering the GM rear wheel house liners for mine. Those are about $100 shipped and well worth the money to clean things up.

I'm not too sure of the back spacing ... And I'll be honest, not too sure what BS is or how to figure it out or measure it.. The specs of my wheels are in my original post.

I think for sure I would get the wheel liners. Looks clean and it's done right.

They are probably 0 offset or 5" BS.

Thanks a lot blackout .... Does the RCX 5" kit make the front tires stick out further then the rear ? If so how bad ... I'm sooo leaning toward the 3" body lift here lol .. Seems like a lot less stress, everything stays the same geometry wise

Also from all the reading I'm doing ? My 17"

Wheels probably won't even work with the 5" lift ? Is that correct or is anyone running the 17" rim with the rcx5"

It requires 18s or larger, but you could probably run wheel spacer up front if you really wanted to. Go with the body lift, and enjoy your current wheels with a factory ride.

you will need 1.5" spacers for the rear to even out the track width with the front

if i put 1.5" spacers on the back i have a feeling my wheels and tires will stick way too far out for my liking. i like where they are right now. i Think i have made up my mind on the 3" body lift. i havent seen a truck with the 3" BL though that has the factory wheel well liners installed. do the cover up the whole gap or is there still some left over?

Also how hard is it to line everything back up after u mess with all your body mounts??
