GMT-900 Instrument Panel Problem

Having an intermittent problem with my 2008 Silverado LT. While driving, both the odometer/DIC and PRNDL readings will go blank. Sometimes they'll flicker on and off then finally come back on. When they do come back on, my Fuel, Volt, Temp and Oil Pressure gauges will be off by about 30 degrees or maxed out. Last time this happened, the only way to get it back right again was to unhook the Neg batter cable for a short while. Anyone else have this happen? It sounds like a bad ground somewhere but not sure where to start.
