Alright guys, I have gone thru a ton of pages trying to understand all of this... It's making my head spin. I have a '15 LTZ with the s*itty Halogen Projector headlights and they suck. What exactly do I need, to get more light and a brighter pure white light ( not the piss yellow ), I hate the blue colored light so I was thinking 5500k. If someone can tell me everything I need... my second question is exactly how hard is it to install? I'm sick of the crappy lights that should be WAY better than they are. Came to Lubbock tonight, and on the way to the hotel on the pitch dark highways, the light just ISN'T the way it needs to be. I'm sure this is simple stuff to understand, but as I have never done this I would appreciate a little help, maybe a little step by step.

You can order the complete kits from either The Retro Fit Source, TRS, or FastHeadlights. FastHeadlights post on this forum under the name of FastWS6TA. If you decide TRS they have the Silverado Elite Spec Kit

I'd suggest Diode Dynamics. Very impressed with their kit so far.. 35 watt 6k kit..

I second Diode Dynamics, running their kit without issue.

Well my FRX 3.0 retro fit kit came for my Silverado and about to do the install but must say it looks abit intimidating. I had a video showing how to do it but now I can't find it anywhere. Anyone have a link to it for the Silverado's?

Thanks man. Phil sent me a message with options on different choices and if I'm going to do it, I think maybe the FXR kit would be best. But many have great results with different options. Met a guy tonight while at the car wash and started talking about our trucks, differences etc. Took this pictures showing the Projectors my 2015 LTZ came with and the ugly yellow light which isn't bright enough, compared to his 2016 LT Projector's. Clearly in person showed how vastly improved and great the new lights are, I am aiming for that color of light and brightness for mine, it was perfect... I also need to figure out which ones to get for the High Beam and Fogs.

Please help with my FRX install in my projector Silverado headlights. To me it looks like you need to install one of the brackets first with the studs upright but then I can't get the projector in.DSCN1686_zpso94c7f9h.jpgDSCN1685_zpsq8jsrld9.jpg

Is this right?

If you don't use your brights that much don't waste money there. Phil helped me match my fogs to my headlights and he nailed it (35 watt w/ 6500k). I wish I would have gone with the FXR kit from the start.

Is this right?

That is correct. The top spacer is simply a spacer as you will use the factory mounting holes. You will most likely only be able to get one screw in place on the top since you are doing the rear install method. One screw is totally fine. It will hold no problem. Sorry I wasn't on earlier to help.

Hey that's ok we all have things to do I understand but thanks for replying now though. Question, see how I have the bolts through the spacer then with a nut? I did that to keep them there and so they would not spin as I'm tightening the other nut after it goes through the housing. Well that is where I was having problems, the bolts stuck up too far not allowing clearance but from the link posted about showing how to do it I guess you do NOT put nuts on them like I did but rather leave then loose and hang down thus allowing more clearance to maneuver the light into position. Right?

    • There are probably a few threads talking about fuel mileage but this one seemed to fit the stats I have seen based on my typical local driven route but with different outcomes based on different seasons/temperatures. I have a few hundred pounds of items that consistently ride on the truck at all times such as a bak flip cover, rubber bed mat, tools and extra fuel so I would be something over 8100 lb without me in the truck. All these examples are based on a 100 mile round trip to a town plus running around town so maybe 110 to 120 miles in total for a trip. Using regular fuel and I assume it always has some ethanol in it but don't know the percentage they blend in. Also speed wise I am going at 62 mph and non aggressive driving although less speed yet if its crappy winter condition roads. I am going by an initial reset of the computer generated fuel use numbers averaged over a couple of thousand miles or so for each weather/season so they may be more optimistic then actual hand calculated numbers. Basically this is painting a picture of doing the same drive but seasonal conditions and temperature being the major variable to the end result. Oh and although I am in Alberta Canada, I am converting it to miles per US gallon so there is no confusion.    So winter time it gets cold here, no real surprise there and the roads can be clear at times but also often have packed rough snow or are are driving through loose snow ( they do a poor job of plowing the highways ) and yes this includes the extra idle engine time due to trying not to freeze ones butt off. 12.7 mpg is what I was getting during the winter months on average.    Then during the spring when it was around the freezing point and the highways are clear of snow, I was getting around 14.25 mpg.   Summer time, I have been getting around 15.15 on average but certainly some of the trips showed quite a bit better fuel mileage, so much depended on how much or little I had driven around town and number of engine restarts after sitting for a while at each location. But stating a best fuel mileage trip to town pretending that is what the truck gets on average is fooling ones self for sure !.      As I said in a different post, I had driven a 645 mile trip over a couple of days stint to a different destination then these other daily to town examples above, and was done during the summer with nice weather and not bucking a head wind, also keeping at 62 mph and its a rolling landscape type highway drive ( this isn't southern Alberta or Saskatchewan flat lands ) Hand calculated fuel mileage in this case though and it came out to 17.65
