Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and new to trucks. Not even gonna front like I know anything lol. But I am purchasing my first vehicle on my own and my first truck. Tomorrow (5/25) I'm picking a 2015 4WD Silverado 2LT Crew, can't wait I'm pretty excited.

But first thing I noticed looking at the trucks when I initially went to look a month ago was the front end sitting lower. A few friends on my men's league baseball team have trucks and first thing they told me is to get it leveled. I stumbled across this forum looking up leveling kits.

Everyone's set ups are looking nice. I basically just want it to be pretty level, get rid of that downward angle. I read a post a few up that mentioned 2.5" actually making the front ends too high, or higher than the back. Im thinking about going with a 1.5 or 2" at most. Wheels will be stock 18" but eventually I plan on switching to 22".

Any input on what would be best as I know nothing really about trucks. (Learning process has begun)

Thanks in advance

I'd be interested in knowing about the lights too.

Also, I want to fit 33s in my Silverado, with as little trimming as possible. From reading through this thread, the RC 2.5 or 3.5 should be enough for that purpose?

not even...

I got a pro comp 2" leveling kit and run the stock 20s and only had to trim like an inch off of the passenger side carpet thing that comes with these trucks and im running 33X12.50X20s ((305/55/20s))

Welcome to forum. You'll love the new truck, I got mine alittle over a week ago but owned multiple silverados in the past. This forum will give you tons of info and ideas. I'll be able to give you more in sight tonight or tomorrow about my experience with the RC leveling. Overall I think it'll be great, my take one it so far is that their height doesn't seem to be consistent. I've seen in this long thread where some come with less rake than others. Rake of course refers to the front vs back height, the way the front sits lower. You've probably gathered that already tho

Any leveling kit from a reputable company will do you good. Personally i have a pro comp 2" level for the front only and run 33" tires. I LOVE the stance of my truck. We also leveled my fiance's 2014 with all terrain tires to give it the tough look. I was/am into the lowering scene mostly and reading this entire thread I got the info that I needed to make my choice on lift and tire size. Rough Country seems to be the most popular but as long as it works for you i see no reason not to go with another brand.

congrats on the new truck!!! be sure to share pics with us!!! I got mine about 2 weeks ago as well and my fiance got hers as soon as the 2014s hit the market so I have the pleasure of playing with 2 of these trucks :D

I tried skimming through this thread but there is a lot of pages so if I missed it already being said I'm sorry! Does anyone know who makes a levelling kit that works properly with the Magneride suspension on my 15 denali 1500? I want to get rid of that take and put some nice wheels on her but I don't wanna screw up the ride not do I really want to change out all the suspension components. Thanks!

Hey guys, I'm sure someone here can help me from pulling my hair out.

My plan is to put on a Rough Country 2.5 level as well as a Zone 1.5 body, which I have seen on here; But I don't remember seeing someone that kept the stock 20s on.

I would like to have zero to minimal rubbing, and it looks like I should go with 275/60/20? Is that correct? Or will they look kind of small with ~4" of "lift"?

I saw some posted about 295/60/20 but I am worried about putting them on the stock wheels with their offset .. Most have purchased aftermarket wheels with a less positive offset.

It's hard to justify buying a new set of tires for one more inch. 275/65 are a couple inches bigger diameter than stock. I just don't want to order tires and have them rub crazy but not look too small either!

What do you guys think? I'm going crazy searching for the answer over and over again. I'm not sure if I'll ever find it without asking!

I have the exact same truck, color, and wheels as you (my truck has Z71 though)... Also wanting to do either the 4.5" Zone, 4" BDS, or RC 2.5" and Zone 1.5" body combo. I also want to run 33s on my stock 20s but it seems everyone gives me a different answer.

Installed a 1" front kit this morning. Took about 1-1/2 hours total, probably took more time to get it up on jackstands and R/R the wheels than it took to install the lower spacers. Didn't have to unbolt anything except loosen sway bar links. Little maneuvering with a prybar and they slipped right in. 1" kit, bolts are no longer than stock, so no interference anywhere. Checked alignment camber before and after , virtually no change with 1" lift.

Whats the average/decent price for kits & installation?

A 1.5" level and window tinting will be the first mods I make coming up this summer/fall

this may have been covered before but i cant find it in the search.

i have a 2015 and im going to do a 2 or 2.5'' level and want to put on bf goodrich all-terrain t/a ko2 tires. i know 285/65-18 will fit no problem but was wondering if 305/65-18 will fit. i dont mind working with the fender liner to make it work. but will it run the upper control arm or anything else?

thanks

    • Hello hello looking forward to expanding my knowledge of the 2026 2500 HD that I just bought.   Truck has 3500 miles on it four-wheel-drive crew cab and I’m about to put a 6 1/2 inch BDS lift on it 18 x 10 -25 offset with 37’s   Already have the wheels and tires just waiting on the lift install in about three weeks   Question what surprises am I not gonna be happy with?  I’m not new to lifted trucks so I know that acceleration towing gas mileage all that is affected..   Question is those of you that have this truck this powertrain with a 10 speed Allison and have done the mods that I’m doing,,, how bad is it? Is that Allison constantly gonna be hunting for the right gear to go into? And what about towing, acceleration, fuel consumption as mentioned?    Lastly how come I can’t find any ring pinion gear set up for these axles and when could I expect to see them?   I apologize if there’s any typos I’m doing speech to text on my iPhone.
    • I've got a 2013 2500 6.0L Flexfuel. Drove the truck earlier today with no issues. Went to run an errand tonight and noticed key fob wouldn't work. Figured battery was dead, so replaced fob batter. Still wasn't working. Grabbed my other set of keys with the other fob and that one wasn't working either. So I manually unlock truck and insert key. Interior lights come on, dashboard lights up, turn key and truck starts. Turn truck off, like a moron, and try starting again. This time no crank, no click, no nothing. Lights still come on and dash lights up, but now I'm getting a service 4wheel drive, service tire monitor, etc. Check voltage on battery and Im showing 12.2v. Throw my battery charger on it and give it 15 mins and try starting again. But still no crank no start. Decide maybe its a bad battery, run to autozone grab a new one and put it in. Same issue. Disconnect battery and let it sit for 15 mins. Try again and still nothing. I had managed to roll the windows down earlier as its a humid night, but now I can't get them to roll up. Power locks are also not working now. Then randomly I try the key again, and it fires right up. Immediately I roll up the windows as we have nothing but rain forecast this week. I shut it back off wait 30 seconds and start up again. Worked a 2nd time. So turn it off, start putting things back together. Try one more time, and back to no crank no start. And now the car alarm starts going off. Had to disconnect battery and leave it that way for the night as I don't think my neighbors would appreciate my alarm going off again tonight. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.
    • No one will care for you like you care for you. Do what you can for as long as you can. IMHO of course.

    • Hi there.  Long time lurker, first post.    i have read the previous posts regarding the water ingress problem with this emblem.  I bought my 1500 SLT the  summer of 2025 new and after reading the MANY problems with these emblems failing I decided to install one anyways.  As per a YouTube video, I sealed ( or tried to) this sign with silicone sealant around the outer perimeter joint and the holes that were already somewhat sealed on the rear plate of the emblem.  And installed the connector assembly using dielectric grease on the connectors. The installation looked great and worked well for about 4 months……then FAILURE.  Grrrrrr…… I live in the great white north and wash my truck weekly in an automatic car wash  to keep the salt off.  Let me tell you that removing the old, failed emblem is a whole different animal than removing the OEM individual letters without removing the grill assembly. Mainly because the illuminated logo is built differently than the original letters which  you can remove the red surface lettering with a knife or some kind of blade which gives access to the tabs which hold the logo onto the grill. So I had to essentially destroyed the old emblem to remove it. Doing so killed my chance of doing somekind of autopsy on the failed , old logo.  But there was plenty of water inside when I ripped it apart.  Prior to installing the new assembly I tried it with the old harness and it works fine.   Does anyone have any insight as to where the water is getting into this emblem? I intend to seal the new logo with slow curing epoxy this time around using a syringe.  I think this newer emblem may be an updated unit which I hope GM got the vendor to fix. It has an October 2025 date on it.    If this one  fails,  I am just going to revert back to the non-illuminated letters….AFTER PULLING THE GRILL.    Any thoughts on sealing with epoxy would be appreciated. Thx!   Doug
