I'm burned out on reading up on the leveling kits so hopefully someone can chime in an answer...I want to raise the front and still have a slight rake, so Ive narrowed my options to the 2 inch RC level that looks like it ( might ) make it nose high or the bilstein 5100's. How many of you had to install a rear block due to being nose high with the 2 inch level ?

 

I have the Bilstein 5100's on the highest setting with stock blocks in the back and still have 3/4" of rake.

I just ordered the RC 2 inch and will be ordering bilstein's if I don't like the RC level stance. I will give them to a buddy of mine with a 14 Sierra and put on the 5100's .

I got my Motofab 2" level kit today and I'm stoked!

 

Just wish my dang tires would come in from 4 wheel parts!

After reading most of these posts this is what I went with on my 2014 Silverado High Country.

20x9 Fuel Nutz Rims +20 offset

33x12.50x20 Toyo MT tires

How do you torque wrench the bolt at 3:14 in this video? It's the nut on the upper control arm with the allen key head. I know you put allen key in and then twist the nut with adjustable wrench--but can you torque that without an allen key in or will it spin?

 

 

 

I'm pretty saavy but I've never touched upper control arms on Chevy.

 

Soon as my tires come in I am going to install my Motofab 2" level blocks myself since the place I called wanted $200 bucks to do it.

If it spins put jack under the lower control arm put some pressure up and use a pry bar to keep pressure down on the ball joint it shouldnt spin once its tight enough but if you are putting in lower spacers like that video you should be able to put them in with just taking the sway bar loose leaving upper ball joint alone and prying up on the shock bottom to slide spacer in good luck!

 

Edit: the allen key is just holding the ball joint from spinning also you would torque just the nut he is tightening with the adjustable when your done but it's not likely you will be able to get torque wrench in there so just tighten very tight when done

I will try that instead -- I thought I read you could do it without messing with the upper ball joint.

 

I did buy Motofab blocks like those--very excited. Just wish 4 Wheel Parts would hurry up with the damn tires.

 

I also got email from BFG; 45psi for the new tires versus 35 on old P tires.

 

he original equipment tire size of your Silverado Z71 is P265/65R18 with a recommended inflation of 35 psi cold which supports 2,469 pounds per tire. When you changed the tire size to LT275/70R18, the new inflation will be 45 psi cold which supports 2,470 per tire.

I know I'll catch hell for this but oh well.

I had paid the dealer to install a 2.5" level on my new (11/15)truck and am trying to figure out if it is a 2" , 2.25" or 2.5" as ordered. I see the lower front end block and it measures 1" and can't see anything on the upper or I don't know what I'm looking for to give me the 2+".

The other thing that has me thinking it's under 2.5" is my truck still has the original rear block and the truck has a 3/4" -1" rake ,which tells me that the original rake before level was around 3.5"...................that seems like a lot of rake . Dumby me never measured before and after. I'm not liking the stance and want the rear up another 1" atleast. The rear just looks low. Sorry no pictures except on my sig.

Any advice or suggestions are welcome.

my 2016 Sierra Double Cab Z71 had 3.5in rake from the factory. I installed a Motofab block (under strut) that was just over 1in thick. That got me about 1.625in higher in the front. I now have almost 2 in of rake....which is exactly what I wanted.

 

It's not a 1 to 1 ratio with the under strut blocks..

It's not a 1 to 1 ratio with the under strut blocks..

What size tires are you running? I heard people are running 275/70R18 on 2" level. I bought those tires and Motofab 2" kit. Now I'm wondering if I should hold and get 65s instead of 70s.

usually 1 to 2. Interesting yours didn't give you that. I've heard others say its 1-2 and then I've heard others say "every truck is different". On my 2015 4X4 Sierra All Terrain crew cab short box my 1" thick spacer gave exactly 2" of lift.
