geswek Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 (edited) What was your height measurement before the level install? I was looking at the same kit from ReadyLift and they have a note on there that says it won't work for Z71 models because they only have about 1" difference between the front and rear? I haven't measured mine yet because I just found that on their website and I'm currently at work.I just measured my Z71 without level. Front is 36-1/4" Rear is 38-13/16" I ordered a 2" Motofab block for front. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited January 11, 2016 by geswek

I'll have to check mine when I get home to make sure. Thanks for the reply.

Everything was 39" after the RL 2.25" on the front only.
Tim Rasmussen Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Bottom is the before and top is the after. I did not put any blocks in the rear, left it stock for now. So just the 2.25" Ready Lift Leveling Kit up front. 66-3085Optimized-2016-01-09 15.50.15.jpg Looks great. I bought the rear block but might hold off with installing it. Does anybody know if I hold off with installing the additional rear block until later on after I have the alignment done. If I would have to have the alignment done again? K_W Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I didn't measure the front before, but it's now at 38.5 and that back is at 39.5. Tires have 32#'s in them now which is the factory recomindation (had 38#s when purchased from the dealer).

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk No you won't. Rear block will not affect your front end geometry at all

My All Terrain has the Z71 suspension and after a 2" front level the rear is still 3/4" higher. 1" block lifted the front exactly 2". 1
bigsam94 Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 hey guys, i just picked up a 2" RC level. How much are shops charging to install them and then align the truck? just curious, i figured it should take an hour and a half -2 hours of labor. 1
440hsp Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Here in Houston just to put the RC 2.5 level in the front and align it was 300 something bucks. Not including rear block. Definitely gonna do it myself when I get the chance. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
Tim Rasmussen Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I am planning on installing my own once it is delivered. But I Called shops in my area (central wi) (non GM dealerships) and they both were at $60 + tax for the alignment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Kerrslight Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 For the guys that are contemplating having a shop install the level, it is very simple to install. If you know how to use a wrench, a ratchet and a hammer, you can do it yourself. Minus the alignment of course. Some people say you need a spring compressor to get the strut back on, but I've done both of my trucks myself in my garage and didn't ever need one. There are many how-to videos online to do it and you will save yourself probably $300. Now if you live somewhere where it's really cold and snowing/icy and don't have a garage or warm space to do it, then I completely understand why you'd pay to have it done. Just throwing it out there. I can't stand paying someone do to something I can do myself. Plus for a lot of people, it's a great way to learn! 2

I probably saved over 10k in labor costs over 11 years doing everything to my srt4 myself. Here in Louisiana I was quoted about $250 for install and alignment. I am going this route just because I do not have a garage at the moment -- living in an apartment. I am looking forward to installing mods myself though in the near future.
Txjose Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I had my tire shop install my level.... Its just a 2" front spacer.... They install it for free and i got half off the alignment for buyimg the tires there.... Plus i get my drag radials and tires for my colorado and my 31s for my 81 Toyota as well....

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Yes, if you are going to put a rear block on, put it on before the alignment. Part of your alignment is checking that your rear wheels are tracking directly behind your front tires. If the rear axle U-bolts are tightened with the new blocks without checking "square", you will get rear tire wear. Measurement from center wheel front and back should be the same on both sides of the truck.
