Rattle in headliner near sunroof

HAS ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCED? >>>>>>>>

I just bought a 2014 GMC Sierra SLT Crewcab w/sunroof. I've noticed a regular rattle in the headliner, seems to be coming from just behind the sunroof. It rattles when you shut the doors (not very hard). It also rattles while driving mostly in town (bumpier roads). If slight pressure is applied to the headliner the noise stops. It is quite annoying especially since it is brand new and costs 50k

I'm having the exact same issue. Just got the truck last week. 2014 Silverado Z71/LTZ. Got about 100 miles on it now. The headliner rattles all the time. Shut the door and it rattles. Drive and it rattles. It's driving me crazy. Like ClearLaker said, at 50K you wouldn't expect it right off the lot. Any advice?

My SLT crew cab has the same rattle. Door shutting and very bumpy slow speed maneuvers are when I notice it the most. During normal driving it seems to go away or at least be unnoticeable. I just got the truck <300 miles and have not brought it back to the dealer yet.

I also have a sun roof and have not notice the OPs issue. I do notice some rattling in the year seat, but not enough to worry about.

I picked up a 2014 Silverado Crew LTZ on Saturday Oct 26th 2013. The rattle was evident on the second day driving. Driving on washboard road it was very noticeable but even on the highway hitting smaller bumps we could hear the rattle, a slight push up by hand near the center stops it.

Jumped into the same model on the showroom floor , tap the headliner by hand and makes the same rattle :( C'mon Chevy...I expected better than this !

I have had my 2014 Crew Cab, LTZ,Z71 with a sunroof since July 6th. I am having the same rattle in the headliner. The noise now seems to be getting worse now that it is getting colder outside. Has anyone had any luck getting this repaired?

just a guess

could it be wires from the dome light? if so maybe some foam material or tape can stop the wires from rattling around?

I sent customer service all my info today. I'll let you guys know what they say. I have a feeling that if it's fixable then it's going to involve dropping the headliner. Don't know if that's a really good option though. Always been weary of doing things like that.

I agree on dropping the headliner, one quick thing to watch for about 7 years my new acura TL headliner was scratched from opening the sun roof shade. luckily it was under warranty I took it in for service and had them replace the fabric on the sunroof sunshade. they had to pull the headliner down, the service dept replaced the material fine but never got the sunshade back on the tracks right the sunshade was never the same and never opened smoothly after they pulled down the headliner.

Make sure check the sun shade before and after to verify it's on the track and open/closes smoothly. I'm planning to order my trunk in the morning with a sun roof hope they get this figured out for everyone

SEEMS TO ME WITH AS MANY POSTS DATING BACK 3 MONTHS GM WOULD BE ON TOP OF THIS PROBLEM BUT NO ONE SEEMS TO BE ABLE TO FIND OUT AT THE DEALERSHIPS. I GUESS WE EXPECT THEM TO KNOW MORE THAN THEY DO!

I should have replied earlier. I had this issue booked in at the dealer but the night before I decided to take a look between the opening around the sunroof with a flexible scope camera.

Found 2 hook and loop type clips that were not secured together. I pressed with my palm firmly up on the headliner in several places around the sunroof opening until I heard the two clicks of the clips snapping together. That was 5 weeks ago and I have not had the rattle return. :)

Now that it's got cold my next issue is with the interior temperature fluctuating ..... too hot ...too cold...too hot
