issue Rear Slider Window Discontinued?!

I spoke to the Chevy rep at the NAIAS and he stated there was not supply constraints on the rear sliding window for the Silverado. I hope he really knew what he was talking about.

Just had a chat with GM and they are telling me that the Rear Power Window is currently not available on any model! I have a GMC Sierra SLT on order, and it is not on the build sheet! I dont get it!

Very first post here! Great forum!

I'm getting very interested in a '14 Sierra SLT, after driving a '91 model since '91. You think it's about time?

Anyway, my old '91 has a rear sliding window that I have enjoyed through the years when the weather is nice, so I have been very disapointed to learn the new '14 model windows are discontinued.

I called a local sales manager who is miffed also, as he says the huge majority of his customers want the slider. He also, says that he is not sure if/when they might be available again.

IF the option were to be brought back in the near future, I will wait.

Does anyone have an update?

my truck was built dec 20 and has one checked with dealer after reading here they said no recalls or bulletins on mine

I just picked up a truck with the rear window, so I asked my dealer to check this out before i pick up the truck.

I called my dealer today for an oil change and the fire recall and he said bring it in next Monday because they are replacing the rear sliding window regulator on ALL 14 Silverados with it equipped.. Might have been an issue with it,

I emailed GM and got a nice, timely reply.

This is a short portion of the reply:

*At this time, our information does not indicate that a rear sliding power window will be made as an available option later in the model. In addition, information regarding future models is not accessible at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding.*

As small of an option as this is, I enjoy a rear sliding window very much, enough to make me interested in checking out other brands.

I am very surprised it is no longer available, but surely wish it was.

Well I can confirm that on my Silverado LTZ that was built on 2/4/2014 did come with the power sliding rear window.

Bought my Silverado yesterday. It has a sliding rear window. Only the High Countries had it while I was shopping except one Z71 I saw.

Do you think Chevy should take it off their build your own website. Just purchased a truck that I used the build your own site to select. The site listed LT plus including the sliding window. Purchased via Internet, paid Then was shown truck. Guess what was missing. Dealer acted like LT plus didn't include sliding window.

I love the sliding rear window, and I want whatever my new truck will be to have that option, preferably a GMC Sierra 1500 SLT. That's the only thing that is holding me back from buying today.

Maybe the 2015 versions will offer the option again. When do they come out? In the fall?

I'm waiting it out for now, but the new Fords "look good", though I have never owned a Ford in my life.

Just foundout my truck will be here next week and no slider. Was not a very happy camper after having too build the truck the way I want it then wait just too findout hey heres the truck u ordered with most of the stuff you wanted. Told the dealer too keep it and put it on there lot. They shoulda told me this 3/28 when I ordered it. Guess they can eat $50k
