issue Dash info screen randomly resets all settings

Nope. Mine still happens about once a week too. I plan to bring it back up at my oil change and see if they'll replace the cluster. I too am hoping that GM discovers something that I can benefit from.

OR, if GM wants to use my vehicle for troubleshooting this problem, I'd be more than happy to allow them to look at it (for a small fee of course).

They reinstalled the software, did the recall.

It did fix my contact syncing issue, but yesterday my tech setting and best mileage all erased again.

I did try to remote start it before it went. I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

all in all, not a big problem, just an inconvenience, so I can live with it. Hopefully as more denalis are delivered an update will come out that solves it.

GM doesn't seem to have a clue about this. Since the volume is low and they can't reproduce it, it will be hard to figure out.

I have seen the same thing. It wasn't until yesterday when I started my truck remotely with my onstar app on my Galaxy S4 phone and these same things occured (its occurred about 4 times before that) that I noticed a possible theme and had to comment on this.

My take on this:

Its specific to the Denali's only and the custom 8" in dash/CPU controlling the screen they have. The things in common are

1) the dashboard theme resets to "standard" if you have it on "tech" or "media" theme

2) the 25/50/400 MPG best milage will reset

3) the HVAC temperature setting may be reset to low

4) the info page may reset to MPH regardless of what 1 of 7 info sub-views were set

5) this occurs more frequently if a remote start was initialized. It could affect other things.

I have not taken it to the dealership due to one 1) its not a big issue to me, just an annoyance 2) I don't get any reimbursement for my time off and travel to/from the GM dealership to help GM troubleshoot their products. When my oil change is due I will mention it.

Denali's have only been out for a couple months so owners are still getting a custom to the new 8" in dash display/settings available and probably are not aware of the different theme options yet (Tech is my favorite). Once they do, they will come to this forum searching and chime in.

I am also getting this same problem where at least once a week my dash settings reset from technology to standard. I'm going to keep driving it for a while and see if anything else comes up and then bring it in for my first oil change and these fixes. I also have the Denali.

I have the Texas package remote start yesterday evening got in my temp was turn all way down I didn't do it honest, I had it set on 75. Keep an eye on that.

Besides changing themes, mine also jumps to the first page (MPH screen) in the info list instead of whatever page I left it on.

I too am going to have it looked at when I go in for my oil change. I'm going to push for a new cluster if there's not another fix by then.

Super, I updated my previous post with this info. That has happened to me as well on one of the previous times. Of course you only notice it if you have that setting on something other then INFO > MPH when this "reset" occurs. Thanks!

I had another strange thing happen to my cluster over the weekend. This is the second time that this has happened, but the first time I was too new to the settings to be positive. I normally have the "Blank" info page deselected so that it doesn't show up in the info page list of the cluster. Well, this weekend it magically showed back up in the list. No other settings reset that I know of.

These issues really smell of bad memory or bad memory pointer problems if you're familiar with SW integration.

Anybody with Denali cluster issues needs to make sure and mention them to your service rep so that a case is opened with GM. There aren't a lot of Denali owners out there, so it'll be hard to generate the numbers to get Denali issues resolved.

How do you get the dashboard to go between standard and tech. I also don't get the best mileage display on my in dash screen. I only have the following screens:

1. Speed/Odometer

2. Trip A

3. Trip B

4. Current consumption usage. V4/V8 display.

5. Tire Pressure

6. One blank display screen.

Push the Left button on the right side of the steering wheel to go to the Cluster main menu. Go to the bottom option, Settings I think. There you will find the different themes and the ability to add/remove info pages.

Or you can just wait a couple of weeks and the pages and option will change randomly on their own.

Mine reset again today. Very annoying. My dealer still has no idea what the problem is. Have you had any luck?

Nope. I'm only at 2500 miles. I'm debating on bringing it in sometime soon for my floorboard vibrating on accelerations. I'd mention it again then to see if I can get a new cluster to see if that fixes the problem. It consistently happens at least every week.

I wonder if there are any Denali owners that aren't having this problem?

I've had all these problems also I thought maybe I was not doing something correctly, I'll get it set up the way I want, the pages I like and randomly its back to factory. Wasnt a big concern to me at least my truck is starting now, but hey now that it starts I guess it might burn down.

Also my truck has the floorboard vibration at full throttle and now the 8" screen randomly quits. Count me in for denali owner with problems.

Yep, happened to me too. It didn't take a couple of weeks either. Based on the info you gave me I setup the display for Tech and it reset back to standard after just 2 days.

Update for everyone. I added a new topic, but I'll put it here too.

I have had to bring my denali in 4 times in the last 6 months for various things. Each time, I have them log my complaint about the cluster resetting issue.

This time, there was a software update to fix bugs. No specific mention of the resetting, but it did include the denali.

Before the software update, I was losing my settings at least every 4 days. It has now been 13 days since the update and i have not had a single reset.

It is still too early to confirm that the problem is gone, but it is promising. I'll post updates....

Call your dealers and give it a whirl! Good luck.

I have an appointment with the tech on Wed. I'll post Wed night.

I found another problem with the system too. I have a bunch of music on a connected iPod and SD card. The large intellilink screen sees everything immediately, but the small screen does not see all of the music. It's there and can be played. I just can't get to it via the small screen.

Must be a glitch in the small screen software.

I have same problem in an SLT. Dealer told me two months ago that GM tech support is aware and working toward a fix. I have the transfer recall next week and I am going to see what they say about a possible fix. I have the had the issue numerous times with SD card, favorites, and phone contacts. Always will show on the dash screen just not in the instrument LCD.
