Put on AVS in channel Vent Visors I got today. Truck had the tape on type until a couple of them came loose.

Any problems with the windows opening/shutting and do you notice any difference with the wind with the windows open? these trucks are terrible wind wise mine is like a tornado inside with the windows open

+1 on that question... i have the low profile tape ons and i've liked them so far because they sort of look like the in-channel... real clean minimal look, but even with my windows closed i hear them whizznistling on the highway.

If I let driver's window auto up it will go back down.

I'm like you, I don't know how loud it would be without it because I put the AVS in channel visors on right away back when I first got my truck in 2016. But the window should stay up when doing the auto up. I know I can either manually raise the window or auto up and it works either way. I have seen other threads with same issue but don't recall exactly what the fix was. I think I tried to leave the window closed as much as possible when I first installed them.

From what I recall, the AVS instructions mentioned rolling window up and down 5 times and then leaving them up for 24-48 hours. Also another possibility is to do the reprogramming which is a simple as rolling down the window and then manually closing all the way and holding switch in closed mode for 2-3 seconds. 

 

And I also found this post in another thread that has more steps to follow:

 

Here's the short version that works (it's actually a GM-approved procedure): 
  
1.  Roll windows all the way up.  As the window closes hold up button for 3-5 seconds. 
2.  Roll windows all the way down.  As the window opens hold down button for 3-5 seconds. 
3.  Roll windows all the way up.  As the window closes hold up button for 15-20 seconds. 
4.  Leave the windows closed for 24-48 hours.  More heat/sun is better since it lets the vent visors mold around the weatherstripping. 
  
Has worked on most of the trucks we have dealt with ....

I have the in-channel vent deflectors from GM - I think they are from EGR.
Took a bit to break them in - left windows up for quite a bit after install but I, occasionally, got the roll window down and back up message.
Still, after a bit of time, no issues.

I agree, however, it's a bit of a "status" symbol that I didn't buy my truck at some used car dealer other than the manufacturer dealer in my mind.
Probably stupid, but, then, I often am.

what about wind with the windows down? any difference? any noise while driving?

my only reason for getting any would be to reduce the wind tornado with the windows down

Hey guys! Today I had a successful exhaust leak repair. Ended up having three broken bolts; replaced them and the gasket. Fortunately the manifold itself was in great shape. Truck is back to normal and cold start is smooth! 

 

Also did just a general inspection and rotated/balanced the tires while I was at it.
