I'm not taking it personally but you keep over and over again posting SCREEN MIRRORING which is NOT Car Play. You called me out on the Car Play and what you've shown is NOT Car Play, its simply screen mirroring and then you continue to do it over and over again in a thread about our product LOL

True Car Play is native to the vehicle screen it shows your iOS devices Car Play screen, not mirror the whole thing. It's a trimmed down interface for in car use like this:

Ok well let's start fresh between each other.

Ok from what I read, you said it's not possible to have the 2016HMI on the 2015. I'm I correct?

So I have 15 Silverado with 8" mylink and already have the text option etc... But is there a way to get mine done to be able to mirror my iPhone navigation and video in motion???? If so what is the price for that?? I need navigation but don't want to spend $1000 for a new module!! Thanks

So...first off...I have the factory NAV upgrade at $300.00 less at the moment. I have about 9 modules left at that price point. As usual...you get our tech support the whole way through. We don't just sell you a box and then hide like everyone else out there. We do offer the phone imaging option as well, which gives you more functionality than just the phone imaging. One of these days I'll start a thread that explains all the ins and outs...for now, best to call us and I'll explain. The phone rings NON-STOP so...texting can be the best way to reach me.

Sooooo.....lots of stuff going on about CarPlay. We do need a new thread started so things don't get misconstrued!!

I will say this and then a new thread needs to be started by someone...LOL. From what I've seen so far CarPlay is going to be somewhat limited. Limited or not I can assure you that if it can be retrofitted back to the later models...we will be the first and only company to make it possible and actually SUPPORT it. Product actually needs to be available first though before anything can happen.....

The other video is neat...but the biggest issue is they are using this stuff on overseas vehicles...which run on different platforms than US vehicles. So...when it comes to making them work CORRECTLY in our marketplace you will run into issues and ultimately getting angry because you will get ZERO support.

Again...we are playing around with some new things, but I can assure you that nothing will be released until we are confident that things work smoothly and it can be supported the proper way.

Ohh.....and there is also one BIG thing that nobody has mentioned. Apple owns the rights to CarPlay...so one must be very careful when talking about having True CarPlay in a vehicle that is not really supported by APPLEs software. I don't think anyone in here wants to go up against Apple!!

So I had a thought this morning on the way to work. It may be stupid or it may be worth trying. Say I had the HMI programmed to allow video in motion. I would then purchase a USB to HDMI adapter allowing use of my chromecast to use the center console USB media port. I could then mirror my phone. If the USB didn't work are there additional AV ports on the HMI? Could be worth looking unto for those that want a carplay experience.

Cool MVI, I remember you emailing me a few weeks back and appreciate the fast response when you did.

I didn't mean to get anyone off topic, and see my error in it all guys. I'm will remain curious about your venture and progression.

GTP sorry for getting things off topic yesterday and any headache. Like I said above I do realize what you are referring. Maybe the solution I suggest can be a temp fix for some people, but agreed that that needs to be another thread that I might start up.

Hope all is well guys and have a good on

In-Motion Features now available...call or text for details.

For the Escalade Owners with 360 Camera View...pretty sure we can now offer in motion camera viewing...testing and verifying this week. For the Non 360 Camera View owners that may want to consider this option...we are developing this addition as well. Will hopefully know more this week.....AND...OH YEA... stay tuned for the retro back updates this week :D

Hoping to have a video for everyone by Tuesday...I'd put up a pic, but cant figure out how to attach the darn thing...LOL

I'll see if GTP can put a couple pics up on my behalf.

As Anthony said its an exciting time!

The full feature unlock you've come to expect from MVI has been completed and is now available for all 2016's and includes the same exceptional features as the 13-15.5 models such as video in motion from DVD/Blue Ray, Video in Motion from SD/USB, removal of ALL of the vehicle controlled motion locks such as navigation entry, bluetooth pairing functions, vehicle personalization etc. It also includes for vehicles equipped with front cameras (IE 2016 Corvette) the ability to turn on the front cameras over 5MPH at any time other than in park or reverse. There will likely be other interesting things to follow regarding that option as I'm sure some of you will find the pictures below interesting :)
