Why hasn't anybody painted what use to be valve covers.I haven't seen any covers painted on the 5.3. I know it's not a valve cover, just thought it would look better to match the cover that's not included with our trucks.

Coil covers painted. Engine bay plastics all painted by my local body shop, they matched my factory paint code. All of you with brighter color trucks would probably get more contrasting pop. It fits my style, so I am pleased.

Do they make a 5.3L emblem?

Yes. Look closely. Right under the BowTie.

I just traded in my 2014 Silverado for a new 2016 GMC with 5.3 engine. I took the engine cover (plastic silver cover like in the photo below) off my Silverado but there is nothing to hook it up to my GMC. Can you use this on a 2016 GMC? If so, what do I need to do so? I want to check before I get the new badge.

Hey Guys sorry for my mistake. Must have been distracted or toooooo many suds. The Correct part number for the 2 front studs that hold this cover is 11611691. I put in 16616691. Whoops. Sam

Here are the stud PNs. I would assume that this is what you are missing on your truck. Can anyone confirm that these studs replace the existing bolts on the newer trucks? I have bolt heads in the stud locations on my 16

Yes, they replace the two bolts, actually screw type thread. I just put them on my 2016 silverado.

Very informative thread! This type of Thread makes listening to all the whiners on other Threads worth it!

Let me do some research for you, can't remember off top of head. Got it from the engine cover of a GMC Terrain. Fits perfect.

Can anyone show me (photo) what bolts have to

be removed to put the studs in? Are these bolts hard

to remove and can you cause any additional issues or

problems? I don't know too much about this. Specs -

pounds pressure putting the studs in etc..

I like to do it because I have the item and it is

pretty cool looking? Thanks.
