One of the better Threads for sure! Do you guys have any ideas for the spare battery tray ?

1. spare battery, 2. plastic battery box /w cover - jumper cables, misc. tools , spare fuses , ect.

Check out post # 128, and you may see the two black plastic post sticking up on each side. Thats where the front snaps down. The back slips into brackets.

For the rear of the cover, the brackets are already there?

As I have a '15, I will need to get the studs for the front mounting of the cover, is there a torque spec to use when replacing the bolts with the studs? (Not exactly sure what those bolts are securing.)

Thanks.

Yes the brackets are already there, as for the torque specs... Make sure you use your German torque wrench, specs are gutentight [emoji1305]

They are not even threads. They are a screw type thread into plastic. Just tighten them down snug. 10 mm deep well socket or wrench.

Hmm...I like no.2!

I liked that idea but I've been having one heck of a time finding one that would actually fit in the tray. Even small plastic tool boxes that would fit (and are reasonably close to battery size) are hard to find.

If someone ever made a toolbox using a battery casing, they probably would make a killing as a GM accessory.

I've looked at many of those, all are too big to fit in the tray. The idea is to use the tray, not to replace it. The closest solution that would fit that I can find is from China and the shipping cost makes it prohibitive.

6 months later, finally got around to installing the cover. Cant tell the metallic flake because of the cloud cover, but when the sun hits it, it really pops. Worth the time and money, really gives the engine bay a finished look.
