WilliamBos Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 Gorgeous trucks. Im thinking about getting 5100’s to lift my nose up a bit. These wont stress the upper ball joints, correct?

3tspapat Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 No it is not required. If you go any taller than 2.5" then you will want to change the UCA. 1

That's debatable and also depends on what UCA you have. My front is up 1.25 and I'm ok with the angles but had I gone 1.8 I would prefer UCAs on my 18 with stamped steel units.
Snowcamo Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 Bils don't change the angles that much that you would need upper c arms. Having them would be a plus them wouldn't hurt tho.eres my 14 wil Bils at max height bed loaded with stone behind the wheel wells. 1

ATXsilverice Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 Is replacing the UCA required with the 5100’s?Required? No. Will it wear out the ball joint faster? yes. In my case i replaced it because i preferred to not have the stamped steel UCA design when i take it off-road. plus these are bolt in ball joints which makes the replacement of them much easier when they do wear out. but in the end you can put 5100s without replacing a UCA to answer the question. 1

Thanks. What UCA did you use?
