Cleaning Dash Affects Radio?

On my way home today, I noticed that my dash was dusty so I swiped my hand across the dash above the radio. As soon as I did, I lost all radio sound and dash warning sounds like the turn signals, door open, etc. The only way that I could get the sound to return was to shut the engine off, remove the key, lock the truck with the remote, use the remote for the door unlock and re-start the truck.

 

Anyone else have a magnetic personality affecting the radio?

It is a known issue, search the forum. There was a pretty long thread on it not to long ago.

I had this same issue too the other day, I had not thought about it since then. I was using a rag to wipe the dash while I was sitting in traffic when everything went silent
