Called local dealer. service manager looked up the headlamp notice and asked a couple of question and said he did not have bulbs will order then call me. just waiting now

And waiting waiting waiting..............waiting.Good thing for my 9011's. These are great trucks if is ....Whoops I forgot about the headlights and radio and trans shifts. Basic stuff that doesn't count anymore! Comeon GM Ever comment on this thread? The lights suck!

My Sierra is in the shop this morning getting the German headlights and BCM reflashed. Summer in Alaska is upon us so I won't really know if the lights are better till about October.

I made an appointment for pre-trip service about a month ago, asked to have the bulbs ordered and the updated completed at the same time. Went in last Saturday for the appointment. They didn't have the bulbs but did do the flash. The flash alone did make a noticeable improvement.

ordered 35W 5500K HIDS, is this everything I need to install it? I'm going to ask the guys at Clueless and Clueless GMC if they will install for me. 3fbe4f60eeea5d5a3dde3b9552af911b.jpg

Went to my dealer on Saturday morning 4-18-15 with the copy of the service bulletin. The lady that was working looked at me and pretty much said there is nothing they can do about it. I told her that others have had it done and she said that since this isn't a recall, there is nothing that can be done. She pulled up my VIN and said I have a transfer case recall and I can schedule that if I want. I told her no, I'll go somewhere else that will help me more than you. They always ask me where I got my truck too, like there is some sort of dealer snobs that won't touch another dealers truck. I also told her that if they would have been able to trade for my truck then I would have gone through them.

 

Sorry for the rant, just pissed that she made my day less exciting.

Open your own case direct with GM and be sure to point out their refusal to provide covered service for your truck.

Just a follow-up. My dealer replaced both headlights (I pulled the air box to make sure the passenger side got replaced too) and re-flashed the body controller for no charge to me under the Bulletin. Won't know the results till September or October since the only darkness we have now in Alaska is when I am sleeping. Don't feel like setting my alarm to go for a joy ride.

When I took my truck in to get the bulbs replaced, they actually had to look up the build date and location of my truck to see if it was eligible for the replacement. I don't know what the dates are but my truck was eligible and it was an August/September 2014 build in Mexico.

I'm trying to get my Chevy store to do the BCM update for me. They are "looking into it"

Not unless you have a Silverado with Sierra headlights. :)

I just got back from a dealer service, they just got the bulbs today and replaced them in my truck. Tech told me to check it out and let them know if there are any problems. I will know tonight if they work better, but from the photos I have seen I should be pleased.
