Vincentric's newest list ranking the best vehicles for fleets is out. Five GM vehicles won their classes, including:

◾Chevrolet Impala Limited LS – Large Sedan
◾Chevrolet Express G2500 – Full-Size ¾-Ton Passenger Van
◾GMC Sierra 1500 – Base Reg Cab 2WD SWB – Full-Size ½-ton pickup
◾Chevrolet Silverado 2500 – W/T DBL Cab 2WD SWB – Full-Size ¾-ton pickup
◾Chevrolet Silverado 3500 – W/T DBL Cab 4WD LWB SRW – Full-Size 1-ton pickup

This is the 11th year of the Vincentric fleet awards. The group looks closely at the lifecycle cost to operate the vehicles in each of ranking segments. In addition to each of the five vehicles listed above having the best lifecycle cost in the classes they won, GM also earned the Vincentric honor for Best Value Full-Size Pickups.

Commenting on the win, David Wurster, president of Vincentric, said, “General Motors received awards in a wide range of segments. It’s clear that GM’s strong product portfolio provides measurable value to fleet customers.”

Vincentric measured the costs associated wtih 2,700 qualifying vehicles to create the U.S. totals. Costs measured were depreciation, fees and taxes, financing, fuel, insurance, maintenance, opportunity costs and repairs.

this is likely why I'm seeing our County Ambulance Service switching to Chevrolet based vehicles; its gotten to the point where if you have to make an engine repair to a Ford Super Duty (even if it is relatively minor) they basically have to rip the cab off of the chassis, and ford will make a killing from the labor if the vehicle is out of warranty.

Yep, I hear from a lot of people that the maintenance on Ford's trucks is a major pain.

looks like a list from an air force base.
